📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

At that time Marodach son of Laadan, the king of Babylonia, sent letters and envoys and gifts to Hezekiah, for he had heard that he was sick to the point of death and had risen up.
And Hezekiah rejoiced over them with great joy, and he showed them the house of the nechotha, and of the myrrh oil and the incenses and the ointment and the silver and the gold, and all the houses of the vessels of the treasury, and everything that was in his treasuries; and there was nothing which Hezekiah did not show them in his house.
And Esaias the prophet came to king Hezekiah and said to him, "What do these men say? And from where have they come to you?" And Hezekiah said, "They have come to me from a distant land, from Babylon."
And Esaias said, "What did they see in your house?" And Hezekiah said, "They saw everything in my house, and there is nothing in my house which they did not see; and also the things in my treasuries."
Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, when they shall take all that is in your house, and all that your fathers gathered until this day shall go to Babylon; and they shall leave nothing at all. So God has said.
