The Father, compassionate in all things and beneficent, has tender mercies toward those who fear Him, and gently and kindly bestows His favors upon those who draw near to Him with a single mind.
Let this Scripture be far from us, where it says: "Wretched are the double-minded, who doubt in their soul, who say: These things we heard also in the days of our fathers, and behold, we have grown old, and none of these things has happened to us."
"O foolish ones, compare yourselves to a tree: take a vine: first it sheds its leaves, then a shoot comes forth, then a leaf, then a flower, and after these the unripe grape, then the cluster fully formed. See, how in a short time the fruit of the tree comes to ripeness."
Of a truth His purpose shall be swiftly and suddenly accomplished, the Scripture also bearing witness that "He will come quickly and will not tarry, and the Lord will come suddenly into His temple, even the Holy One whom you await."
