You therefore who laid the foundation of the faction, submit to the elders and be disciplined unto repentance, bending the knees of your heart.
57:2
Learn to submit, laying aside the boastful and arrogant self-will of your tongue; for it is better for you to be found small but accounted worthy in the flock of Christ, than to be cast out from his hope while seeming to be preeminent.
57:3
For thus says the all-virtuous Wisdom: "Behold, I will pour out for you the utterance of my breath, and I will teach you my word.
57:4
Since I called and you did not obey, and I stretched out words and you paid no heed, but you made my counsels void and disobeyed my reproofs; therefore I also will laugh at your destruction, and I will rejoice when ruin comes upon you, and when tumult suddenly arrives upon you, and the catastrophe comes like a whirlwind, or when affliction and siege come upon you.
57:5
For it shall be that when you call upon me, I will not hear you; the wicked shall seek me and shall not find me. For they hated wisdom and did not choose the fear of the Lord, nor would they heed my counsels, but mocked my reproofs.
57:6
所以他們必吃自己行徑所結的果子,飽嘗自己不敬虔的惡果;
Therefore they shall eat the fruits of their own way, and shall be filled with their own ungodliness;
57:7
for because they wronged the simple, they shall be slain, and inquiry shall destroy the ungodly. But he who listens to me shall dwell in confidence, trusting in hope, and shall rest securely from all evil."
