5:1
Ἀλλ̓ ἵνα τῶν ἀρχαίων ὑποδειγμάτων παυσώμεθα, ἔλθωμεν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἔγγιστα γενομένους ἀθλητάς: λάβωμεν τῆς γενεᾶς ἡμῶν τὰ γενναῖα ὑποδείγματα
然而,且讓我們撇下古時的例證,來看那些離我們最近的鬥士;讓我們取我們本世代那高尚的榜樣。
But, to leave off the examples of ancient times, let us come to the athletes who lived nearest to us; let us take the noble examples of our own generation.
5:2
διὰ ζῆλον καὶ φθόνον οἱ μέγιστοι καὶ δικαιότατοι στύλοι ἐδιώχθησαν καὶ ἕως θανάτου ἤθλησαν
因著嫉妒與羨慕,那最偉大、最公義的柱石遭受逼迫,爭戰直到死地。
Because of jealousy and envy the greatest and most righteous pillars were persecuted and contended even unto death.
5:3
λάβωμεν πρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν ἡμῶν τοὺς ἀγαθοὺς ἀποστόλους:
讓我們把那美好的眾使徒擺在眼前:
Let us set before our eyes the good apostles:
5:4
Πέτρον, ὅς διὰ ζῆλον ἄδικον οὐχ ἕνα οὐδὲ δύο, ἀλλὰ πλείονας ὑπήνεγκεν πόνους καὶ οὕτω μαρτυρήσας ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὸν ὀφειλόμενον τόπον τῆς δόξης
彼得,他因不義的嫉妒,所忍受的勞苦不只一兩次,乃是多次;他這樣作了見證,便往那他當得的榮耀之處去了。
Peter, who because of unrighteous jealousy endured not one or two but many labors, and having thus borne his witness went to the place of glory that was his due.
5:5
διὰ ζῆλον καὶ ἔριν Παῦλος ὑπομονῆς βραβεῖον ὑπέδειξεν
因著嫉妒與爭競,保羅指明了忍耐的獎賞。
Because of jealousy and strife Paul pointed out the prize of patient endurance.
5:6
ἑπτάκις δεσμὰ φορέσας, φυγαδευθείς, λιθασθείς, κήρυξ γενόμενος ἔν τε τῇ ἀνατολῇ καὶ ἐν τῇ δύσει, τὸ γενναῖον τῆς πίστεως αὐτοῦ κλέος ἔλαβεν
他七次帶過鎖鏈,被趕逐流放,被人用石頭打,在東方和西方都作過傳道者,因而得著他信心高尚的美名。
Seven times he bore chains; he was driven into exile, was stoned, became a herald in both the East and the West, and won the noble renown of his faith.
5:7
δικαιοσύνην διδάξας ὅλον τὸν κόσμον, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ τέρμα τῆς δύσεως ἐλθὼν καὶ μαρτυρήσας ἐπὶ τῶν ἡγουμένων, οὕτως ἀπηλλάγη τοῦ κόσμου καὶ εἰς τὸν ἅγιον τόπον ἀνελήμφθη, ὑπομονῆς γενόμενος μέγιστος ὑπογραμμός
他將公義教導了普天下,並且來到西方的極處,在掌權者面前作了見證,就這樣離開了世界,被接到聖潔之處去,成了忍耐最偉大的榜樣。
Having taught righteousness to the whole world and having come to the limit of the West, and having borne his witness before the rulers, he thus departed from the world and was taken up into the holy place, having become the greatest example of patient endurance.
