Ἐπειδὴ νενίκηται ὁ πειράζων μεγαλοφρονεῖ ὁ ἀγωνοθέτης ἐπὶ τῷ ἰδίῳ ἀθλητῇ καὶ φησὶν ὡς πρὸς τὸν ωενικημένον· Τίς οὗτος ὁ κρύπτων; τίνι γὰρ ἐφαρμόζει λέγεσθαι τοῦτο; ὁ Ἰὼβ οὐκ ἔκρυπτεν, εὐσεβὴς ὑπάρχων καὶ ὅσιος. οὑτος δέ ᾧ ἐπιπλήσσει, κρύπτειν ἐθέλει καὶ ὑπολαμβάνει τὴν βουλὴν αὐτοῦκρυπτομένην ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ. πλὴν αὐτὸς ταῦτα ποιεῖ ὡς κρύπτων. καὶ γὰρ ὁ Ἀδὰμ ὅτε ἥμαρτεν ᾤετο κρύπτεσθαι ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου
既然那試探者已被勝過，這比賽的審判者就因他自己的勇士大大誇耀，並且如同對那被勝過者說：「這隱藏的是誰呢？」這話究竟合宜對誰說呢？約伯並沒有隱藏，因他是敬虔聖潔的。而這位受責備者，乃是想要隱藏、自以為他的計謀可向神隱瞞的。然而他自己所行的卻如同隱藏者。因為亞當犯罪的時候，也以為可以躲避主的面。
Since the tempter has been conquered, the Judge of the contest takes great pride in his own athlete, and says, as though to the one who has been conquered: 'Who is this that hides?' For to whom does it fit that this be said? Job was not hiding, being pious and holy. But this one, whom he rebukes, wishes to hide and supposes that his counsel is hidden from God. Yet he himself does these things as one hiding. For Adam too, when he sinned, thought to hide himself from the face of the Lord.
