For these causes the emperor ordered that, a council being convened, Athanasius be condemned. And he ordered this to be assembled at Tyre (one of the Counts being sent from his side, with Archelaus also, then Count of the East, lending his effort, and likewise him who governed the province of Phoenicia). Athanasius is brought there: the casket with the human arm is carried about: envy and horror pervade not only the religious but even the base souls.
