民數記 第 1 章

And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sina, in the tent of witness, on the first of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying:

Take the sum of the whole congregation of the sons of Israel by their kindreds, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head, every male.

From twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force of Israel — number them with their force; you and Aaron, number them.

And with you there shall be men, each one according to his own tribe, from among the rulers; they shall be by ancestral houses.

And these are the names of the men who shall stand with you: of Rouben, Elisour son of Sediour;

of Symeon, Salamiel son of Sourisadai;

of Ioudas, Naasson son of Aminadab;

of Issachar, Nathanael son of Sogar;

of Zaboulon, Eliab son of Chailon;

of the sons of Ioseph: of Ephraim, Elisama son of Emioud; of Manasse, Gamaliel son of Phadassour;

of Beniamin, Abidan son of Gadeoni;

of Dan, Achiezer son of Amisadai;

of Aser, Phagaiel son of Echran;

of Gad, Elisaph son of Ragouel;

of Nephthali, Achire son of Ainan.

These are the summoned of the congregation, rulers of the tribes according to their ancestral lines; they are chiliarchs of Israel.

And Moses and Aaron took these men who had been called by name,

and they gathered the whole congregation together on the first of the second month of the year, and they registered themselves according to their generations, according to their ancestral lines, according to the number of their names, from twenty years old and upward, every male by their head.

In the manner the Lord commanded Moses, so they were numbered in the wilderness of Sina.

And the sons of Rouben, Israel's firstborn, were reckoned by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Rouben was forty-six thousand five hundred.

For the sons of Symeon, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Symeon was fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

For the sons of Ioudas, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Ioudas was seventy-four thousand six hundred.

For the sons of Issachar, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Issachar was fifty-four thousand four hundred.

For the sons of Zaboulon, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Zaboulon was fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

For the sons of Ioseph, the sons of Ephraim, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Ephraim was forty thousand five hundred.

For the sons of Manasse, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Manasse was thirty-two thousand two hundred.

For the sons of Beniamin, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Beniamin was thirty-five thousand four hundred.

For the sons of Gad, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Gad was forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

For the sons of Dan, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Dan was sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

For the sons of Aser, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Aser was forty-one thousand five hundred.

For the sons of Nephthali, by their kindreds, by their divisions, by their ancestral houses, by the number of their names, by their head — all males from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth in the force:

their numbering from the tribe of Nephthali was fifty-three thousand four hundred.

This is the numbering which Moses and Aaron and the rulers of Israel numbered — twelve men, one man for each single tribe; they were according to the tribe of their ancestral houses.

And the whole numbering of the sons of Israel with their force, from twenty years old and upward, everyone who goes forth to draw up in battle array in Israel, came to:

six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

But the Levites, from the tribe of their ancestral house, were not numbered among the sons of Israel.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

Look — you shall not number the tribe of Levi together with them, and you shall not take their number in the midst of the sons of Israel.

And you, set the Levites over the tent of witness and over all its vessels and over all that is in it. They shall carry the tent and all its vessels, and they shall minister in it, and they shall encamp around the tent.

And when the tent sets out, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tent encamps, they shall set it up. And let the foreigner who approaches die.

And the sons of Israel shall encamp, each man in his own rank, and each man according to his own command, with their force.

But let the Levites encamp before the Lord around the tent of witness, and there shall be no sin among the sons of Israel; and the Levites themselves shall keep the watch of the tent of witness.

And the sons of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did.
