民數記 第 25 章

And Israel lodged in Sattin, and the people was profaned by whoring after the daughters of Moab.

And they invited them to the sacrifices of their idols, and the people ate of their sacrifices and worshipped their idols.

And Israel was initiated to Beelphegor, and the Lord was angry in wrath with Israel.

And the Lord said to Moses, Take all the leaders of the people, and make a public example of them to the Lord before the sun; and the fierce anger of the Lord shall be turned away from Israel.

And Moses said to the tribes of Israel, Let each one kill the member of his household who has been initiated to Beelphegor.

And behold, a man of the sons of Israel came and brought his brother to the Midianite woman before Moses and before all the congregation of the sons of Israel; and they were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of witness.

And Phinees son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, and rose up out of the midst of the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand,

and went in after the Israelite man into the furnace chamber, and pierced them both, the Israelite man and the woman, through her womb; and the plague was stayed from the sons of Israel.

And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Phinees son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has caused my wrath to cease from the sons of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them; and I did not consume the sons of Israel in my jealousy.

So say: Behold, I give to him a covenant of peace.

And it shall be to him and to his seed after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel.

And the name of the Israelite man who was struck, who was struck with the Midianite woman, was Zambri son of Salo, a ruler of a paternal house of the Symeon.

And the name of the Midianite woman who was struck was Chasbi, daughter of Sour, a ruler of the nation of Ommoth; it is of a paternal house of the Madian.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, saying,

Be at enmity with the Midianites, and strike them;

for they are at enmity with you by deceit, in all that they deceive you through Phogor, and through Chasbi, daughter of a ruler of Madian, their sister, who was struck in the day of the plague because of Phogor.
