民數記 第 27 章

And the daughters of Salpaad son of Opher, son of Galaad, son of Machir, of the family of Manasse, of the sons of Ioseph, came near; and these are their names: Mala, and Noua, and Egla, and Melcha, and Thersa.

And standing before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the rulers, and before all the congregation, at the door of the tabernacle of witness, they say,

Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the midst of the congregation that rose up against the Lord in the congregation of Kore; for he died because of his own sin, and he had no sons.

Let not the name of our father be blotted out from the midst of his family, because he has no son; give us a possession in the midst of the brethren of our father.

And Moses brought their case before the Lord.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

The daughters of Salpaad have spoken rightly; you shall give them as a gift a possession of inheritance in the midst of the brethren of their father, and you shall assign to them the lot of their father.

And to the sons of Israel you shall speak, saying: If a man dies and there is no son to him, you shall transfer his inheritance to his daughter.

But if there is no daughter to him, you shall give the inheritance to his brother.

But if there are no brothers to him, you shall give the inheritance to his father's brother.

But if there are no brothers of his father, you shall give the inheritance to the kinsman nearest to him from his tribe; he shall inherit the things that are his. And this shall be for the sons of Israel an ordinance of judgment, just as the Lord ordered Moses.

And the Lord said to Moses: Go up into the mountain that is on the other side, this mountain Nabau, and see the land of Chanaan, which I am giving to the sons of Israel as a possession.

And you shall see it, and you also shall be added to your people, just as Aaron your brother was added on the mountain Hor.

because you transgressed my word in the wilderness of Sin, when the congregation was resisting: to sanctify me, you did not sanctify me at the water before them. This is the water of Contradiction of Kades in the wilderness of Sin.

And Moses said to the Lord:

Let the Lord, the God of the spirits and of all flesh, select a man over this congregation,

who shall go out before their face and who shall come in before their face, and who shall lead them out and who shall bring them in; and the congregation of the Lord shall not be like sheep for whom there is no shepherd.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Take to yourself Joshua son of Naue, a man who has spirit in himself, and you shall lay your hands upon him.

And you shall set him before Eleazar the priest, and you shall command him before all the congregation, and you shall give command concerning him in their presence.

And you shall give of your glory upon him, so that the sons of Israel may obey him.

And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, and they shall ask of him the judgment of the Manifestations before the Lord; at his mouth they shall go out and at his mouth they shall come in, he and the sons of Israel with one accord, and all the congregation.

And Moses did just as the Lord commanded him; and taking Joshua, he set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation.

And he laid his hands upon him and commissioned him, just as the Lord ordered Moses.
