39:1
ወኀደረ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ፍልሰተ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ከናአን ፡ 2 እለ ፡ ትዝምደ ፡ ያዕቆብ ።
雅各住在他父親寄居之地迦南地。以下是雅各的世系。
And Jacob dwelt in the land of his father's sojournings, the land of Canaan; these are the generations of Jacob.
39:3
ወሤሞ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ቤቱ ።
波提乏立約瑟管理他的全家；因約瑟的緣故，主的祝福臨到那埃及人的家，主使他所行的一切都亨通。
And he set Joseph over all his house, and the blessing of the Lord came upon the house of the Egyptian on account of Joseph, and the Lord prospered him in all that he did.
39:4
ወኀደገ ፡ ግብጻዊ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ እስመ ፡ ርእየ ፡ ከመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይሴርሖ ።
那埃及人把一切都交在約瑟手中，因為他見主與約瑟同在，主使他所行的一切都亨通。
And the Egyptian committed everything into the hands of Joseph; for he saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord prospered him in all that he did.
39:5
ወዮሴፍሰ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ራእዩ ፡ ወላሕይ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ራእዩ ።
約瑟的容貌俊美，極其秀麗。
And Joseph's appearance was comely and very beautiful was his appearance, and his master's wife lifted up her eyes and saw Joseph, and she loved him, and besought him to lie with her.
39:6
ወኢመጠወ ፡ ነፍሶ ።
他卻不放縱自己的心，乃記念主，並記念他父親雅各從亞伯拉罕的話中所讀給他的，就是人不可與有夫之婦行淫，因為這在天上、在至高神面前已定為致死之罪，這罪要常常記在主面前永遠的冊上、歸到他身上。
But he did not surrender his soul, and he remembered the Lord and the words which Jacob, his father, used to read from amongst the words of Abraham, 2 that no man should commit fornication with a woman who hath a husband; that for him the punishment of death hath been ordained in the heavens before the Most High God, and the sin will be recorded against him in the eternal books continually before the Lord.
39:7
ወተዘከረ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ንባበ ፡ ወኢፈቀደ ፡ ይስክብ ፡ ምስሌሃ ፡ 8 ወአስተብቍዐቶ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ አሐተ ፡ ወካልአ ፡ ወአበያ ፡ ሰሚዐ ፡ 9 ወለጠቀቶ ፡ ወአኀዘቶ ፡ በቤት ፡ ከመ ፡ ትትባአሶ ፡ ይስክብ ፡ ምስሌሃ ።
約瑟記起這話，不肯與她同寢。她求他一年又一年，他卻不肯聽從。她哄誘他，在屋裏拉住他，要強逼他與她同寢。
And Joseph remembered these words and refused to lie with her.
39:10
ወርእየት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ብእሲት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይሰክብ ፡ ምስሌሃ ፡ ወጠቀለቶ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚኡ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትብል ፡ ኪያየ ፡ ፈቀደ ፡ ገብርከ ፡ ዕብራዊ ፡ ዘታፈቅር ፡ ይትዐገለኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይስክብ ፡ ምስሌየ ።
那婦人見他不肯與她同寢，就在她主人面前誣賴他，說：「你所愛的那希伯來僕人想要強逼我與他同寢。」
And the woman saw that he would not lie with her, and she calumniated him in the presence of his lord, saying: "Thy Hebrew servant, whom thou lovest, sought to force me so that he might lie with me; and it came to pass when I lifted up my voice that he fled and left his garment in my hands when I held him, and he brake through the door. "
39:11
ወርእየ ፡ ግብጻዊ ፡ ልብሰ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ወማዕፆ ፡ ስቡረ ።
那埃及人看見約瑟的衣服和那被衝破的門。
And the Egyptian saw the garment of Joseph and the broken door, and heard the words of his wife, and cast Joseph into prison into the place where the prisoners were kept whom the king imprisoned.
39:12
ወሀሎ ፡ ህየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሞቅሕ ።
約瑟就被關在那監牢裏。
And he was there in the prison; and the Lord gave Joseph favour in the sight of the chief Footnotes
39:13
ወኀደገ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ሊቀ ፡ ዐቀብተ ፡ ሞቅሕ ፡ ዘያአምር ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ምንተኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ይገብር ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ይፌጽም ፡ ወነበረ ፡ ህየ ፡ ክልኤተ ፡ ዓመተ ።
主把一切都交在約瑟手中，掌管監牢的司獄毫不查看他手下的事，因為凡事都是約瑟去辦，主使他成全。他在那裏住了兩年。
And he committed all things into his hands, and the chief of -the prison guards knew of nothing that was with him, 1 for Joseph did everything, and the Lord perfected it.
39:14
ወበውእቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ተምዕዐ ፡ ፈርዖን ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ ኅጽዋኒሁ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሊቀ ፡ መዘርት ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ሊቀ ፡ ኀበዝት ፡ ወወደዮሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሞቅሕ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ ለሊቀ ፡ መበስላን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሞቅሕ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሀሎ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ እኁዝ ፡ ህየ ።
在那些日子，埃及王法老向他兩個太監，就是酒政長和膳長發怒，把他們下在監裏，囚在膳長之家的監牢，就是約瑟被囚之處。
And he remained there two years. 2 And in those days Pharaoh, king of Egypt, was wroth against his two eunuchs, against the chief butler and against the chief baker, and he put them in ward in the house of the chief cook, 3 in the prison where Joseph was kept.
39:15
ወሠርዖ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ ሊቀ ፡ ዐቀብተ ፡ ሞቅሕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትለአኮሙ ፡ ወይትለአክ ፡ በቅድሜሁ ፡ 16 ወሐለሙ ፡ ክልኤሆሙ ፡ ሕልመ ፡ ሊቀ ፡ መዘርት ፡ ወሊቀ ፡ ሐበዝት ፡ ወነገርዎ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ 17 ወበከመ ፡ ፈከረ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ኮኖሙ ።
司獄派約瑟伺候他們，他就在他們面前伺候。他們二人，就是酒政長和膳長，各作了一夢，便告訴約瑟。約瑟怎樣給他們圓夢，事情就怎樣成就。
And the chief of the prison guards appointed Joseph to serve them; and he served before them.
39:18
ወረስዖ ፡ ሊቀ ፡ መዘርት ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ በቤተ ፡ ሞቅሕ ፡ እስመ ፡ አይድዖ ፡ ዘይከውኖ ፡ ወኢተዘከረ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያይድዕ ፡ ለፈርዖን ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ነገሮ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ እስመ ፡ ረስዐ ።
酒政長卻在監裏把約瑟忘了，雖然約瑟把他將遇的事告訴了他，他卻不記得把約瑟怎樣對他說的話告訴法老，因為他忘了。
But the chief butler forgot Joseph in the prison, although he had informed him what would befall him, and did not remember to inform Pharaoh how Joseph had told him for he forgot. Footnotes
