13:1
ዘገሰሰ ፡ ፒሳ ፡ ይትአኀዝ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ወዘተዐረኮ ፡ ለዕቡይ ፡ ይከውን ፡ ከማሁ ።
He that touches pitch will be defiled; And he that has fellowship with a proud man will become like to him.
摸瀝青的必被沾污，與驕傲人來往的必變得與他一樣。
13:2
ኢታንሥእ ፡ ክቡደ ፡ ወኢትሰከም ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ወኢትደምር ፡ ንዋየከ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዘይኄይለከ ፡ ወዘይብዕለከ ፡ በአይቴ ፡ ይትዐረክ ፡ መቅጹት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ጽሕርት ፡ እስመ ፡ ለሊሃ ፡ ትጐድዕ ፡ ወለሊሃ ፡ ትኬልሕ ፡ ወለሊሃ ፡ ትሰብር ።
Take not up a burden above your strength; And have no fellowship with one that is mightier and richer than yourself. What fellowship shall the earthen pot have with the kettle? This will strike, and that will be dashed in pieces.
不要背負超過你能力的重擔，不要與比你強盛富有的人交往。瓦罐怎能與銅鍋相碰？這一碰，瓦罐必被撞碎。
13:3
ወከማሁ ፡ ባዕልኒ ፡ ለሊሁ ፡ ይገፍዕ ፡ ወለሊሁ ፡ ይትመዐዕ ፡ ወነዳይሰ ፡ ለሊሁ ፡ ይትገፋዕ ፡ ወለሊሁ ፡ ይገኒ ።
The rich man does a wrong, and he threatens withal: The poor is wronged, and he will entreat withal.
富人行了不義，反倒威嚇人；窮人受了冤屈，還得向人哀求。
13:4
ወለእመ ፡ ብከ ፡ ዘትበቊዖ ፡ ያቀርበከ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ወእመሰ ፡ ተጸነስከ ፡ ኢይኔጽረከ ፡ እንከ ።
If you be profitable, he will make merchandise of you; And if you be in lack, he will forsake you.
你若對他有用，他便利用你；你若有所缺乏，他便撇棄你。
13:5
ወለእመ ፡ ብከ ፡ የኀብር ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ወየኀልቅ ፡ ለከ ፡ ዘዚኣከ ፡ ወዓዲ ፡ ኢያነክረከ ።
If you have substance, he will live with you; And he will make you bare, and will not be sorry.
你若有財物，他便與你同住，耗盡你的所有，自己卻毫不痛惜。
13:6
ወለእመ ፡ ቦ ፡ ትካዝ ፡ ዘይቴክዝ ፡ ይየውሀከ ፡ ወብዙኀ ፡ ያስተሴፍወከ ፡ ወይሥሕቅ ፡ ለከ ፡ ወሠናየ ፡ ይትናገረከ ፡ ወምንተ ፡ ትፈቅድ ፡ ይብለከ ።
Hath he had need of you? then he will deceive you, And smile upon you, and give you hope: He will speak you fair, and say, What need you?
他若有求於你，便哄騙你，向你陪笑，給你盼望；他向你說好話，並說：『你需要什麼呢？』
13:7
ወበመብልዑ ፡ የኀይጠከ ፡ ምዕረ ፡ ወካዕበ ፡ ወሥልሰ ፡ ያሰፍጠከ ፡ ወእም ፡ ዝ ፡ ድኅረ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ኢይስማዕከ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ርእየከ ፡ ይሥሕቅ ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ወየሐውስ ፡ ርእሶ ፡ ለከ ።
And he will shame you by his meats, Until he have made you bare twice or thrice, And at the last he will laugh you to scorn: Afterward will he see you, and will forsake you, And shake his head at you.
他以筵席使你蒙羞，直到把你榨乾兩三次，末了便譏笑你；此後他見了你，便撇棄你，向你搖頭。
13:8
ተዐቀብ ፡ ኢያስሕትከ ፡ ወኢይየውህከ ፡ ወኢታብእ ፡ ሐዘነ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ትፍሥሕትከ ።
Beware that you be not deceived, and brought low in your mirth.
要謹慎，免得你被哄騙，在你的歡樂中被貶為卑下。
13:9
ዘይቤለከ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ኦሆ ፡ በሎ ፡ ለግእዙ ፡ ወለእመኒ ፡ ጸውዐከ ፡ ኢትእበዮ ፡ ወፈድፋደ ፡ ያፈቅረከ ።
If a mighty man invite you, be retiring, And so much the more will he invite you.
權貴若邀請你，你要退讓；他便會越發邀請你。
13:10
ኢትርሐቅኒ ፡ ወኢትስሐትኒ ፡ ወኢታጐንዲ ፡ ርሒቆቶ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይርሳዕከ ።
Press not upon him, lest you be thrust back; And stand not far off, lest you be forgotten.
不要硬擠上前，免得你被推回；也不要遠遠站開，免得你被遺忘。
13:11
ወኢታፈድፍድ ፡ ተናግሮ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ወኢትትአመኖ ፡ በብዝኀ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ እስመ ፡ በብዝኀ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ ያሜክረከ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ዘይሥሕቅ ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ የሐትተከ ።
Affect not to speak with him as an equal, And believe not his many words: For with much talk will he try you, And in a smiling manner will search you out.
不要妄想與他平起平坐，也不要輕信他的許多言語；因為他要用許多話試探你，並以陪笑來窺探你。
13:12
አልቦቱ ፡ ሣህል ፡ ለዘያወፅእ ፡ ምክረ ፡ ቢጹ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢየሐዝኖ ፡ ተሞቅሖቱ ፡ ወመንሱቱ ።
He that keeps not to himself words spoken is unmerciful; And he will not spare to hurt and to bind.
不為別人保守所說之言的，是無情的人，他必不顧惜，反要傷害人、捆綁人。
13:13
ዑቅ ፡ ወተዐቀብ ፡ በሕቁ ፡ እስመ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ቀታሊከ ፡ ተሐውር ።
Keep them to yourself, and take earnest heed, For you walk in peril of your falling.
你要謹守自己的話，極其小心，因為你行走時是與自己的傾覆同行。
13:15
ኵሉ ፡ እንስሳ ፡ ያፈቅር ፡ ዘመዶ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ያፈቅር ፡ ቢጾ ።
Every living creature loves his like, And every man loves his neighbor.
凡有生命的都喜愛與牠同類的，人也喜愛與自己相近的。
13:16
ወኵሉ ፡ ነፍስ ፡ ይትጋባእ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዘከማሁ ፡ ወሰብእኒ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዘይዘውጎ ፡ ይተሉ ።
All flesh consorts according to kind, And a man will cleave to his like.
凡有血肉的都各從其類聚集，人也必與和自己相似的人相親。
13:17
በአይቴ ፡ ይትዐረክ ፡ ተኵላ ፡ ምስለ ፡ በግዕ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ኃጥእ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ጻድቅ ።
What fellowship shall the wolf have with the lamb? So is the sinner to the godly.
狼與羊羔有什麼相交？罪人與敬虔人也是如此。
13:18
ወመኑ ፡ ያስተሰናእዎሙ ፡ ለከለባት ፡ ምስለ ፡ አዝእብት ፡ ወመኑ ፡ ያስተዐርኮ ፡ ለነዳይ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ባዕል ።
What peace is there between the hyena and the dog? And what peace between the rich man and the poor?
鬣狗與狗之間有什麼和平？富人與窮人之間又有什麼和平？
13:19
ከማሁ ፡ ይትዔገሎ ፡ ባዕል ፡ ለነዳይ ።
Wild asses are the prey of lions in the wilderness; So poor men are pasture for the rich.
野驢在曠野是獅子的獵物，窮人也是富人的草場。
13:20
ያስቆርሮ ፡ ዕቡይ ፡ ለዘያቴሕት ፡ ርእሶ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ያስቆርሮ ፡ ባዕል ፡ ለነዳይ ።
Lowliness is an abomination to a proud man; So a poor man is an abomination to the rich.
謙卑是驕傲人所憎惡的，照樣，窮人也是富人所憎惡的。
13:21
ባዕል ፡ ለእመ ፡ ተንተነ ፡ ይሰውቅዎ ፡ አዕርክቲሁ ፡ ወነዳይሰ ፡ ለእመኒ ፡ ወድቀ ፡ ይከይድዎ ፡ ቢጹ ።
A rich man when he is shaken is held up of his friends; But one of low degree being down is thrust away also by his friends.
富人搖搖欲墜時，有朋友扶持他；卑微人跌倒時，連朋友也把他推開。
13:22
ባዕል ፡ ለእመ ፡ ድኅፀ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ ያነሥእዎ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ነበበ ፡ ያረትዑ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ ወነዳይሰ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ስሕተ ፡ ይረግምዎ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ሠናየ ፡ ነበበ ፡ ኢያጸምእዎ ።
When a rich man is fallen, there are many helpers; He speaks things not to be spoken, and men justify him: A man of low degree falls, and men rebuke him withal; He utters wisdom, and no place is allowed him.
富人跌倒時，有許多人扶持他；他說出不該說的話，人卻為他辯護。卑微人跌倒時，人反責備他；他說出見識的話，卻無人給他容身之地。
13:23
ወባዕልሰ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ነበበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ያረምም ፡ ወይንእዱ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ ወያበጽሕዎ ፡ እስከ ፡ ደመና ፡ ወነዳይሰ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ነበበ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ምንትኑ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ይብልዎ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ተዐቅፈ ፡ ያቴክልዎ ።
A rich man speaks, and all keep silence; And what he says they extol to the clouds: A poor man speaks, and they say, Who is this? And if he stumble, they will help to overthrow him.
富人說話，眾人都靜默，並把他的言語高舉到雲端；窮人說話，人卻說：『這是誰呀？』他若失足，人便落井下石把他推倒。
13:24
ሠናይ ፡ ብዕል ፡ እንዘ ፡ ኢትገብር ፡ ኀጢአተ ፡ ያሐሥማ ፡ ኃጥእ ፡ ለንዴቱ ፡ በአፉሁ ።
Riches are good that have no sin; And poverty is evil in the mouth of the ungodly.
無罪的財富是好的，不敬虔人口中所說的貧窮卻是禍患。
13:25
ልቡ ፡ ለሰብእ ፡ ይዌልጥ ፡ ገጾ ፡ ለእመኒ ፡ ፍሡሕ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወለእመኒ ፡ ትኩዝ ፡ ውእቱ ።
The heart of a man changes his countenance, Whether it be for good or for evil.
人的心使他的面容改變，或變為善，或變為惡。
13:26
አሠሩ ፡ ለልብ ፡ ፍሡሕ ፡ ገጽ ፡ ብሩህ ፡ ወትረክብ ፡ ምክረ ፡ ጥበብ ፡ ሰሪሐከ ።
A cheerful countenance is a token of a heart that is in prosperity; And the finding out of parables is a weariness of thinking.
歡愉的面容是心境順遂的記號，思索箴言卻是費力勞神的事。
