30:1
ዘያፈቅር ፡ ወልዶ ፡ ኢያጸብእ ፡ ተግሣጸ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትፈሣሕ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ በደኃሪቱ ።
He that loves his son will continue to lay stripes upon him, That he may have joy of him in the end.
愛兒子的人必不斷管教他，使自己日後因他得喜樂。
30:2
ዘመሀሮ ፡ ለወልዱ ፡ ይንእድዎ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ወይከውኖ ፡ ምክሑ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ማኅፈሩ ።
He that chastises his son shall have profit of him, And shall glory of him among his acquaintance.
管教兒子的人必因他得益處，並在親友中以他為誇耀。
30:3
ዘመሀሮ ፡ ለወልዱ ፡ ያቀንኦ ፡ ለጸላኢሁ ፡ ወይትፌሣሕ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ በኀበ ፡ አዕርክቲሁ ።
He that teaches his son shall provoke his enemy to jealousy; And before friends he shall rejoice of him.
教導兒子的人使仇敵嫉妒，並在朋友面前因他歡騰。
30:4
እመኒ ፡ ሞተ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘኢሞተ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኀደገ ፡ ድኅሬሁ ፡ ዘከማሁ ።
His father dieth, and is as though he had not died; For he has left one behind him like himself.
他的父親雖死，卻如同未死，因為他留下了一個與自己相似的人。
30:5
ወእንዘ ፡ ሕያው ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ተፈሥሐ ፡ በወልዱ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ይመውት ፡ ኢያሐምሞ ፡ ልቡ ።
In his life, he saw and rejoiced in him; And when he died, he sorrowed not:
父親在世時看見他便歡喜，臨終時也不憂愁。
30:6
እስመ ፡ ኀደረ ፡ ድኅሬሁ ፡ ዘይትቤቀሎሙ ፡ ለጸላእቱ ፡ ወዘየዐስዮሙ ፡ ለአዕርክቲሁ ።
He left behind him an avenger against his enemies, And one to requite kindness to his friends.
他留下了一個向仇敵伸冤、向朋友報恩的人。
30:7
እንበይነ ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ ውሉድከ ፡ ፅምም ፡ ልበከ ፡ እስመ ፡ እምነ ፡ ብካዮሙ ፡ ይትመሰወከ ፡ አማዑቲከ ።
He that makes too much of his son shall bind up his wounds; And his heart will be troubled at every cry.
過於溺愛兒子的人必包紮他的傷口，每聽見哭聲就心腸不安。
30:8
ፈረስ ፡ ዘኢተረየፀ ፡ ይወፅእ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ወልድ ፡ ዘኢተገሠጸ ፡ ይወፅእ ፡ ዝሉፈ ።
An unbroken horse becomes stubborn; And a son left at large becomes headstrong.
未經馴服的馬必變得倔強，放任不管的兒子必變得任性。
30:9
እምከመ ፡ አስተማዛኅኮ ፡ ለወልድከ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ይትኀየልከ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ተዋነይከ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ያሕምምከ ።
Cocker your child, and he shall make you afraid: Play with him, and he will grieve you.
嬌縱孩子，他必使你驚惶；與他嬉戲，他必使你憂愁。
30:10
ኢትሥሐቅ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢያሕዝንከ ፡ ወአመ ፡ ደኃሪትከ ፡ ያፀርሰከ ፡ አስናኒከ ።
Laugh not with him, lest you have sorrow with him; And you shall gnash your teeth in the end.
不要與他一同嬉笑，免得你與他一同憂傷，到末了咬牙切齒。
30:11
ኢ [ታ ]ኰንኖ ፡ ለወልድከ ፡ በውርዝቱ ።
Give him no liberty in his youth, And wink not at his follies.
在他年幼時不要給他自由放縱。
30:12
እምንእሱ ፡ አጸንጵዎ ፡ አዕፅምተ ፡ ገበዋቲሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ጸንዐ ፡ ኢይዕሉከ ።
Bow down his neck in his youth, And beat him on the sides while he is a child, Lest he wax stubborn, and be disobedient to you; And there shall be sorrow to your soul.
趁他年幼時管束他的言行，免得他變得剛硬而不順從你。
30:13
መሀሮ ፡ ለወልድከ ፡ ወያሰልጠከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትኅፈር ፡ በሙስና ፡ ዚአሁ ።
Chastise your son, and take pains with him, Lest his shameless behavior be an offence to you.
要管教你的兒子，在他身上下功夫，免得他無恥的行為使你蒙羞絆倒。
30:14
ይኄይስ ፡ ነዳይ ፡ ጥዑይ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወፍቱሕ ፡ ነፍሱ ፡ እምነ ፡ ባዕል ፡ ዘድውይ ፡ ሥጋሁ ፡ ወእሱር ፡ ነፍሱ ።
Better is a poor man, being sound and strong of constitution, Than a rich man that is plagued in his body.
身體強健的窮人，勝過體弱多病的富人。
30:15
ጥዑየ ፡ ይኩን ፡ ሥጋከ ፡ ወፍቱሐ ፡ ይኩን ፡ ነፍስከ ፡ ወዝእምኵሉ ፡ ብዕል ፡ ይኄይስ ፡ ወእምኵሉ ፡ ብዕል ፡ ወንዋይ ፡ ይኄይስ ፡ ጥዕዮ ፡ ነፍስ ።
Health and a good constitution are better than all gold; And a strong body than wealth without measure.
健康與強壯的體格勝過一切金子，強健的身體勝過無量的財富。
30:16
ኢይትበደር ፡ ብዕል ፡ እምነቢረ ፡ ጥዑይ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ትፍሥሕት ፡ ዘይኄይስ ፡ እምሐሤተ ፡ ልብ ።
There is no riches better than health of body; And there is no gladness above the joy of the heart.
沒有財富勝過身體的健康，沒有歡樂勝過內心的喜樂。
30:17
ይኄይስ ፡ መዊት ፡ እመራር ፡ ሕይወት ፡ ወእምነ ፡ ደዌ ፡ ሲሕ ።
Death is better than a bitter life, And eternal rest than a continual sickness.
死亡勝過愁苦的生命，永遠的安息勝過纏綿不愈的疾病。
30:18
ከመ ፡ ሥሩፅ ፡ መብልዕ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አፍ ፡ ፍፁም ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ዘያወፍር ፡ እክለ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃብር ።
Good things poured out upon a mouth that is closed Are as messes of meat laid upon a grave.
美物擺在閉著的口前，如同祭品擺在墳墓上。
30:19
ምንተ ፡ ይበቊዕ ፡ ሠዊዕ ፡ ለአማልክት ፡ ኢእሙንቱ ፡ ያጼንው ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፡ ቀሠፎ ።
What does an offering profit an idol? For neither shall it eat nor smell: So is he that is afflicted of the Lord,
祭物獻給偶像有什麼益處？因為偶像既不能喫，也不能聞；那被主棄絕的人也是如此。
30:20
ይሬኢ ፡ በአዕይንቲሁ ፡ ወያሐምም ፡ ልቦ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኅጽው ፡ ሶበ ፡ የሐቅፋ ፡ ለድንግል ፡ ወይቴክዝ ።
Seeing with his eyes and groaning, As an eunuch embracing a virgin and groaning.
他眼睜睜地看著卻只能歎息，如同太監抱著處女徒然歎息。
30:21
ኢታሕዝን ፡ ነፍሰከ ፡ ወኢታጥቅልበከ ።
Give not over your soul to sorrow; And afflict not yourself in your own counsel.
不要把心交給憂愁，也不要用己意苦待自己。
30:22
ትፍሥሕቱ ፡ ለልብ ፡ ሕይወቱ ፡ ለሰብእ ፡ ወሐሤተ ፡ ነፍስ ፡ ያነውኅ ፡ መዋዕለ ።
Gladness of heart is the life of a man; And the joyfulness of a man is length of days.
心中的喜樂是人的生命，人的歡欣使他延年益壽。
30:23
የውሃ ፡ ለነፍስከ ፡ ወናዝዛ ፡ ለልብከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታውፅእ ፡ ሐዘነ ፡ እምላዕሌከ ። እስመ ፡ ለብዙኃን ፡ ቀተሎሙ ፡ ሐዘን ፡ ወአልባቲ ፡ ዘትበቊዕ ፡ ሐዘን ።
Love your own soul, and comfort your heart: And remove sorrow far from you; For sorrow has destroyed many, And there is no profit therein.
要寬待自己的心靈，安慰自己的心，使憂愁遠離你；因為憂愁毀了許多人，於人毫無益處。
30:24
ቅንአት ፡ ወመዐት ፡ ያውኅዱ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ሕይወት ፡ ወእንበለ ፡ ይብጻሕ ፡ ጊዜሁ ፡ ያረሥእ ፡ ትካዝ ።
Envy and wrath shorten a man’s days; And care brings old age before the time.
嫉妒與忿怒減少人的年日，憂慮使人未到時候就衰老。
30:25
ከመ ፡ ዘየአሪ ፡ ድኅረ ፡ ዘይቀሥም ፡ በበረከቱ ፡ ለእግዘአብሔር ፡ በጻሕኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ማእረረ ፡ ወይን ፡ መላእኩ ፡ ምክያድየ ።
A cheerful and good heart Will have a care of his meat and diet.
開朗良善的心，必善加照管自己的飲食。
