Ὅτι φησὶν ὁ ἅγιος, Δύο δὲ δυνάμεις ἐν τοῖς προωμολογημένοις ἔφαμεν εἶναι ποιητικάς, τὴν ἐξ οὐκ ὄντων γυμνῷ τῷ βουλήματι χωρὶς μελλησμοῦ ἅμα τῷ θελῆσαι αὐτουργοῦσαν ὃ βούλεται ποιεῖν· τυγχάνει δὲ ὁ πατήρ· θατέραν δὲ κατακοσμοῦσαν καὶ ποικίλλουσαν κατὰ μίμησιν τῆς προτέρας τὰ ἤδη γεγονότα· ἔστι δὲ ὁ υἱός, ἡ πανταδύναμος καὶ κραταιὰ χεὶρ τοῦ πατρός, ἐν ᾗ μετὰ τὸ ποιῆσαι ὕλην ἐξ οὐκ ὄντων κατακοσμεῖ
That the holy man says: We have said that there are, among the things already agreed upon, two creative powers. The one, out of things that are not, by bare will, without delay, simultaneously with the willing, itself working what it wills to make; and this is the Father. The other, ordering and adorning, in imitation of the former, the things already brought into being; and this is the Son, the all-powerful and mighty hand of the Father, by which, after making matter out of things that are not, He sets it in order.
論到那聖徒所說:在那些已蒙公認的事中,我們曾說有兩種創造的能力。其一,乃是從那不存在的,憑著赤裸的意願,毫不延遲,與那意願同時,自己親自作成祂所願造的;這就是父。另一,乃是仿效那前者,將那已生成之物加以排定並妝飾的;這就是子,乃父那全能大能的手,父藉著祂,從那不存在的造出物質之後,便將它排定整齊。
