5-10:10
Methodius understands the divine Spirit, given by God to all men, whether righteous or unrighteous, to be the conscience, which pricks the soul over its sins and does not consent to the things done contrary to right reason. Concerning this he says that John too speaks in his epistle: 'If our conscience condemns us not, we have boldness toward God.' What then, he asks, is the thing condemned? For the conscience does not condemn itself, but the sinning soul. Concerning this Solomon also said: 'For your incorruptible spirit is in all things.'
