5-25:25
Ἵνα μηκέτι συρίζῃ δράκων. [τοῦτό φησι διὰ τὸ παρακληθῆναι ὑπὸ τῶν δαιμόνων μὴ βαλεῖν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν ἄβυσσον. τοῦτο λέγει διὰ τὸ εἰρηκέναι αὐτὸν τῷ κυρίῳ ταῦτά σοι πάντα σώσω.. ὅτι μὴ δύνασαι οὕτως ὑποτάξαι αὐτὸν ὡς αἱρεῖσθαι μηκέτι σοι πολεμεῖν.] — [τὸ ψέλλιον κόσμος ἐστὶ τῆς χειρός, τοῦτό ἐστι τὸ ἔργον ἀγαθόν. οὐν ἔχων τὸ τοιοῦτον ψέλλιον τρυπήσει τὸ χεῖλος τοῦ δράκοντος τοῦ ἐξ ἐναντίας τοῦ διαβόλου ἐντρεπομένου, μὴ ἔχοντός τι λαλῆσαι κατ' αὐτοῦ.]
So that the dragon may no longer hiss. [He says this because the demons besought him not to cast them into the abyss; or he says this because the dragon said to the Lord, 'All these things I will save for you'; or because you are not able so to subdue him that he choose to war against you no more.]—[The bracelet is an ornament of the hand; this is the good work. He, then, who possesses such a bracelet will pierce the lip of the dragon—of the devil, who from the opposing side is put to shame, having nothing to say against him.]
為要叫那龍不再發出嘶聲。〔他這樣說,是因為眾鬼魔求牠不要把牠們扔進深淵;或他這樣說,是因為那龍對主說:「這一切我都要為你存留」;又或是因為你不能將牠如此制伏,以致牠甘願不再與你爭戰。〕——〔那手鐲是手上的妝飾,這就是善行。所以凡有這樣手鐲的,必刺穿那龍的嘴唇——就是那魔鬼,牠從對敵一面蒙了羞愧,無話可說來攻擊他。〕
