5:1
Reverendissimo et sanctissimo fratri suo Leandro coepiscopo Gregorius S. S. D. Dudum te, frater beatissime, in Constantinopolitana urbe cognoscens, cum me illic sedis apostolicae responsa constringerent, et te illuc injuncta pro causis fidei Wisigothorum legatio perduxisset, omne in tuis auribus, quod mihi deme displicebat, exposui, etc. Tunc eisdem fratribus, etiam cogente te, placuit, sicut ipse meministi, ut librum beati Job exponere importuna me petitione compellerent.
To his most reverend and most holy brother Leander, fellow bishop, Gregory, servant of the servants of God. Long ago, most blessed brother, knowing you in the city of Constantinople, when the responses of the Apostolic See constrained me there, and the legation enjoined upon you for the causes of the faith of the Visigoths had brought you thither, I laid out into your ears everything that displeased me about myself, etc. Then it pleased those same brethren, with you also urging, as you yourself remember, that they should compel me by importunate petition to expound the book of blessed Job.
