以賽亞書 第 51 章

Hear me, you who pursue righteousness and seek the Lord; look to the solid rock which you quarried, and to the hollow of the cistern which you dug.

Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who travailed with you; for he was but one, and I called him and blessed him and loved him and multiplied him.

And you now I will comfort, Zion; and I have comforted all her desolate places, and I will make her desolate places like a paradise of the Lord. Gladness and exultation shall be found in her, thanksgiving and a voice of praise.

Hear me, hear, my people; and you kings, give ear to me; for a law shall go forth from me, and my judgment for a light of nations.

My righteousness draws near quickly, and my salvation shall go forth like light; the nations shall hope in my arm, the islands shall wait for me and shall hope in my arm.

Lift up your eyes to the heaven and look to the earth beneath; for the heaven was made firm like smoke, and the earth shall wear out like a garment, and those who dwell on the earth shall die in like manner. But my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not fail.

Hear me, you who know judgment, my people in whose heart is my law. Do not fear the reproach of men, and do not be overcome by their contempt.

For like a garment it shall be eaten by time, and like wool it shall be eaten by a moth; but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation for generations of generations.

Awake, awake, Jerusalem, and put on the strength of your arm; awake as at the beginning of the day, as a generation of an age. Is it not you?

You who make desolate the sea, the water of the abyss, the multitude; who made the depths of the sea a way of crossing for those being delivered

and redeemed; for by the Lord they shall be turned back and shall come to Zion with gladness and everlasting exultation; for upon their head is exultation and praise, and gladness shall overtake them; pain and sorrow and groaning have fled away.

I am, I am he who comforts you. Know whom you have dreaded and feared: a mortal man, and a son of man, who were dried up like grass.

And you forgot God who made you, who made the heaven and founded the earth; and you were always afraid, all the days, of the face of the wrath of the one who afflicts you. For in what manner did he plan to take you away? And now, where is the wrath of the one who afflicts you?

For when you are being saved, he shall not stand nor delay.

For I am your God, who stirs up the sea and makes its waves roar; the Lord Sabaoth is my name.

I will put my words into your mouth, and under the shadow of my hand I will shelter you — the hand with which I established the heaven and founded the earth. And he will say to Zion: You are my people.

Awake, awake, arise, Jerusalem, you who drank the cup of wrath from the hand of the Lord; for you drank down and drained the cup of falling, the goblet of wrath.

And there was none to comfort you of all the children you bore, and there was none to take hold of your hand, not even of all the sons you raised up.

These two things are set against you; who will grieve with you? Downfall and ruin, famine and sword. Who will comfort you?

Your sons are helpless, lying asleep at the head of every street, like a half-cooked beet; they are full of the wrath of the Lord, weakened by the Lord God.

Therefore hear this, you who are humbled and drunk, but not from wine.

Thus says the Lord God who judges his people: Behold, I have taken from your hand the cup of falling, the goblet of wrath; and you shall no longer drink it again.

And I will put it into the hands of those who wronged you and humbled you, who said to your soul: Bow down, that we may pass over. And you made your back level with the ground, outside, for those passing by.
