23:1
ወእምህየ፡ ርኢኩ፡ ካልአ፡ መካነ፡ መንገለ፡ ዐረብ፡ እስከ፡ አጽናፈ፡ ምድር።
我從那裡去到西方另一處地方，直到大地的盡頭。
From thence I went to another place to the west of the ends of the earth.
23:2
ወርኢኩ፡ እሳተ፡ ዘይነድድ፡ ወይረውጽ፡ እንዘ፡ ኢየዐርፍ፡ ወኢይነትግ፡ እምሩጸቱ፡ መዓልተ፡ ወሌሊተ፡ አላ፡ ከማሁ፡ ክመ።
我看見一團燃燒的火奔流不止，晝夜不停、不離其軌道，總是如此運行。
And I saw a burning fire which ran without resting, and paused not from its course day or night but (ran) regularly.
23:3
ወተስእልኩ፡ እንዘ፡ እብል፡ ዝንቱ፡ ምንት፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘአልቦ፡ ዕረፍት።
我便發問說：「這毫不止息的是甚麼？」
And I asked saying: ‘What is this which rests not?’
23:4
ውእተ፡ ጊዜ፡ አውሥአኒ፡ ራጉኤል፡ አሐዱ፡ እመላእክት፡ ቅዱሳን፡ ዘሀሎ፡ ምስሌየ፡ ወይቤለኒ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ዘርኢከ፡ ሩጸተ፡ ዘመንገለ፡ ዐረብ፡ እሳት፡ ዘይነድድ፡ ውእቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ ብርሃናተ፡ ሰማይ።
那時與我同在的聖天使之一拉古伊勒回答我，對我說：「你所看見那西方奔流的火，就是那追逼天上一切光體的火。」
Then Raguel, one of the holy angels who was with me, answered me and said unto me: ‘This course of fire which thou hast seen is the fire in the west which †persecutes† all the luminaries of heaven.’
