14:1
ብፁዕ፡ ዘኢይድኅፅ፡ በአፉሁ፡ ወለኃጥእሰ፡ ኢያደነግፆ፡ ሐዘን።
沒有因言語失足、也沒有因罪過憂傷扎心的人，是有福的。
Blessed is the man that has not slipped with his mouth, And is not pricked with sorrow for sins.
14:2
ብፁዕ፡ ዘኢየሐዝን፡ ነፍሶ፡ ወዘኢሀጕል፡ ተስፋሁ።
良心不責備他、又沒有從盼望中跌落的人，是有福的。
Blessed is he whose soul does not condemn him, And who is not fallen from his hope.
14:3
ለብእሲ፡ ዘኢየአምር፡ ቃለ፡ ኢይደልዎ፡ ብዕል፡ ወለብእሲ፡ ጠዋዒ፡ ኢይደልዎ፡ ንዋይ።
財富對吝嗇的人並不相宜，貪嫉的人又何必有錢財呢？
Riches are not comely for a niggard; And what should an envious man do with money?
14:4
ዘይቄቅያ፡ ለነፍሱ፡ ይዘግብ፡ ለባዕድ፡ ወካልእ፡ ይፌግዕ፡ በንዋዩ።
從自己心靈中刻薄聚斂的人，是為別人積攢；別人必享用他的財物。
He that gathers by taking from his own soul gathers for others; And others will revel in his goods.
14:5
ዘለነፍሱ፡ ይጠውዕ፡ ለመኑ፡ ሀለዎ፡ ይጸጉ፡ ወዘኢይትፌሣሕ፡ በንዋዩ።
對自己刻薄的人，又能善待誰呢？他必不能因自己的財物得歡樂。
He that is evil to himself, to whom will he be good? And he will not rejoice in his possessions.
14:6
ወአልቦ፡ ዘየአክዮ፡ እምዘይጠውያ፡ ለነፍሱ፡ ወውእቱ፡ ይከውኖ፡ ፍዳሃ፡ ለእከይሁ።
沒有人比苛待自己的人更壞，這就是他邪惡所得的報應。
There is none more evil than he that envies himself; And this is a recompense of his wickedness.
14:7
ወሶበኒ፡ ያሤኒ፡ አመ፡ ረስዐ፡ ዳእሙ፡ ያሤኒ፡ ወድኅረ፡ ያዔውቅ፡ እከይሁ።
他即便行善，也是不情不願地行；到末了，他必顯露自己的邪惡。
Even if he does good, he does it in forgetfulness; And at the last he shows forth his wickedness.
14:8
እኩይ፡ ዐይነ፡ ጠዋዒ፡ ዘይመይጥ፡ ገጾ፡ ይትዔወር፡ ነፍሶ።
以惡眼貪嫉的人是邪惡的，他轉臉不顧，輕看別人的性命。
Evil is he that envies with his eye, Turning away the face, and despising the souls of men.
14:9
ኢያጸግቦ፡ ክፍሉ፡ ለዐይነ፡ ሥሡዕ፡ ወእከየ፡ ልቡ፡ ያቋቊዖ፡ ለአዕፅምቲሁ።
貪婪人的眼目不以自己的分為滿足，邪惡的不義使他的心靈枯乾。
A covetous man’s eye is not satisfied with his portion; And wicked injustice dries up his soul.
14:10
ዐይኑ፡ ለሐማሚ፡ ይጠውዕ፡ እክለ፡ ወይደነግፁ፡ በውስተ፡ ማእድ።
惡眼的人吝惜食物，在自己席上也短缺不慷慨。
An evil eye is grudging of bread, And he is miserly at his table
14:11
ወልድየ፡ በአምጣነ፡ ትክል፡ አስተደልዋ፡ ለነፍስከ፡ ወአብእ፡ መባአ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ በዘይደልወከ።
孩子啊，要照你所有的善待自己，並把當得的供物獻給主。
My son, according as you have, do well to yourself, And bring offerings to the Lord worthily.
14:12
ወተዘከር፡ ከመ፡ ኢይጐነዲ፡ ሞት፡ ወኢታስተሐዘብከ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሞት።
要記得死亡不會遲延，陰間的約期也未曾向你顯明。
Remember that death will not wait, And that the covenant of the grave is not showed to you.
14:13
ዘእንበለ፡ ትሙት፡ አሠኒ፡ ለቢጽከ፡ ወበአምጣነ፡ ትክል፡ ስፋሕ፡ እዴከ፡ ወሀብ።
未死之前，要善待你的朋友；要盡你的力量伸手周濟他。
Do well to your friend before you die; And according to your ability stretch out your hand and give to him.
14:14
ወኢትትኀጣእ፡[እም]ዕለተ፡ ትፍሥሕት(ከ)፤ ወመክፈልተ፡ ሠናይ፡ ኢያምሥጥከ።
不要使自己錯失美好的日子，不要讓美善的願望從你身邊溜走。
Defraud not yourself of a good day; And don’t let the portion of a good desire pass you by.
14:15
አኮኑ፡ ለባዕድ፡ ተኀድጎ፡ ለጻማከ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ተግባረከ፡ ይትካፈሉ፡ መዋርስቲከ።
你豈不是要把你的勞苦留給別人，把你的勞碌交付別人拈鬮分取嗎？
Shall you not leave your labors to another? And your toils to be divided by lot?
14:16
ንሣእ፡ ወሀብ፡ ወአስተፍሥሓ፡ ለነፍስከ፡ እስመ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘትረክብ፡ ትፍሥሕተ፡ በውስተ፡ መቃብር።
要施與，也要領受，並寬待你的心靈；因為在陰間無從尋求享樂。
Give, and take, and decieve your soul; For there is no seeking of luxury in the grave.
14:17
ኵሉ፡ ዘነፍስ፡ ይበሊ፡ ከመ፡ ልብስ፡ እስመ፡ ትእዛዘ፡ ሕግ፡ ተፈጥረ፡ ሞተ፡ ትሙት።
凡有血肉的都像衣服漸漸破舊，因為從亙古以來的定命就是：你必定死。
All flesh waxes old as a garment; For the covenant from the beginning is, You shall die the death.
14:18
ከመ፡ ቈጽለ፡ ዕፅ፡ ዘጽፉቅ፡ ቈጽሉ፡ ዘቀዳሚ፡ ይትነገፍ፡ ወደኃሪ፡ ይሠርጽ፡ ከማሁ፡ ኵሉ፡ ትውልድ፡ ዘሥጋ፡ ወደም፡ ዘዝክቱ፡ ይትወለድ፡ ወዝክቱ፡ ይመውት።
如同茂密樹上繁盛的葉子，有的凋落，有的生長；血肉之人的世代也是如此，一代死去，另一代又出生。
As of the leaves flourishing on a thick tree, Some it sheds, and some it makes to grow; So also of the generations of flesh and blood, One comes to an end, and another is born.
14:19
ኵሉ፡ ግብር፡ ይበሊ፡ ወየኀልቅ፡ ምስሌሁ።
凡腐朽的工作都要消逝，作工的人也必與它一同離去。
Every work rots and falls away, And the worker thereof shall depart with it.
14:20
ወባሕቱ፡ ብፁዕ፡ ብእሲ፡ እንዘ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘሞተ፡ ወዘተምህረ፡ ወዐቀበ፡ ጥበቢሁ።
思想智慧、以見識談論的人，是有福的。
Blessed is the man that shall meditate in wisdom, And that shall discourse by his understanding.
14:21
ወዘይኄሊ፡ ፍናዊሃ፡ ለጥበብ፡ በልቡ፡ ወይትሜሃር፡ ኅቡአቲሃ።
心裡思想智慧道路的人，也必明白她的奧祕。
He that considers her ways in his heart Shall also have knowledge in her secrets.
14:22
ትልዋ፡ ድኅሬሃ፡ ወኅሥሣ፡ አሠራ፡ ወዕቀብ፡ ፍናዊሃ።
你要像追蹤者一樣跟在她後面，在她的道路上守候。
Go forth after her as one that tracketh, And lie in wait in her ways.
14:23
ዘይሔውጽ፡ እንተ፡ መሳክዊሃ፡ ወያፀምእ፡ በውስተ፡ አናቅጺሃ።
窺視她窗戶的人，也必側耳聽她的門。
He that pries in at her windows Shall also hearken at her doors.
14:24
ወዘየኀድር፡ ቅሩበ፡ ቤታ፡ ወይተክል፡ መታክሊሁ፡ ውስተ፡ አረፋቲሃ።
靠近她房屋安歇的人，也必把橛子釘在她的牆上。
He that lodges close to her house Shall also fasten a nail in her walls.
14:25
ወያቀውም፡ ደብተራሁ፡ ውስተ፡ እደዊሃ፡ ወየኀችር፡ ውስተ፡ መኃድሪሃ፡ ሠናይ።
他必在她近旁支搭帳棚，住在美善之物所在的居所。
He shall pitch his tent near at hand to her, And will lodge in a lodging where good things are.
14:26
ወያነብር፡ ውሉዶ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽላሎታ፡ ወይበይት፡ ታሕተ፡ አዕጹቂሃ።
他必使他的兒女在她的蔭庇下安身，在她的枝條下棲息。
He will set his children under her shelter, And will rest under her branches.
14:27
ወያጸልል፡ እምነ፡ መርቄ፡ ታሕቴሃ፡ ወያዐርፍ፡ በውስተ፡ ክብራ።
他必蒙她遮蔽免受炎熱，並在她的榮耀中安歇。
By her he will be covered from heat, And will lodge in her glory.
