38:1
አክብሮ፡ ለዐቃቤ፡ ሥራይ፡ እስመ፡ በከመ፡ እዴሁ፡ ከማሁ፡ ክብሩ፡ እስመ፡ ሎቱኒ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ፈጠሮ።
要照你所需要的尊敬醫生，將當得的尊榮給他，因為主也造了他。
Honor a physician according to your need of him with the honors due to him: For verily the Lord has created him.
38:2
እንዘ፡ ሕይወትሰ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዘአብሔር፡ ወፍተኒ፡ እምኀበ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ይነሥእ።
醫治是出於至高者，他也必從君王得着賞賜。
For from the Most High comes healing; And from the king he shall receive a gift.
38:3
በጥበቢሁ፡ ለዐቃቤ፡ ሥራይ፡ ያከብሮ፡ ኵሉ፡ ወይትአኰት፡ በኀበ፡ መኳንንት።
醫生的醫術使他抬起頭來，在尊貴人面前也受人欽佩。
The skill of the physician shall lift up his head; And in the sight of great men he shall be admired.
38:4
እግዚአብሔር፡ ፈጠረ፡ ሥራያተ፡ እምነ፡ ምድር፡ ወብእሲሰ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ኢይሜንኖ።
主從地裡造出藥物，明智的人不嫌棄它們。
The Lord created medicines out of the earth; And a prudent man will have no disgust at them.
38:5
አኮኑ፡ በዕፅ፡ ጥዕመ፡ ማይ፡ ከመ፡ ያእምሮ፡ ኀይሎ።
水豈不是因木頭變甜，使人得知它的功效嗎？
Was not water made sweet with wood, That the virtue thereof might be known?
38:6
ወውእቱ፡ ወሀቦሙ፡ ለእጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ጥበብ፡ ከመ፡ ይከብሩ፡ በስብሐቲሁ።
主又賜人知識，好叫人因祂奇妙的作為得着榮耀。
And he gave men skill, That they might be glorified in his marvelous works.
38:7
ወቦቱ፡ ይፌውሶሙ፡ ወያሴስል፡ ኵሎ፡ ሕማሞሙ።
祂藉這些醫治人，除去人的疼痛；配藥的人也用這些調製藥劑。
With them does he heal a man, And takes away his pain.
38:8
እምውስቴቱ፡ ይገብሩ፡ ሥራያተ፡ በዘ፡ ይፌውሱ፡ ወውእቱ፡ ያመጽእ፡ ሰላመ፡ ለብሔር።
祂的作為永不止息，平安也從祂而出，遍及地面。
With these will the apothecary make a confection; And his works shall not be brought to an end; And from him is peace upon the face of the earth.
38:9
ወልድየ፡ ኢትጸመም፡ ሕማመከ፡ ጸሊ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወውእቱ፡ ይፌውሰከ።
我兒，你患病的時候不可疏忽，倒要祈求主，祂必醫治你。
My son, in your sickness be not negligent; But pray to the Lord, and he shall heal you.
38:10
ወኅድጋ፡ ለኀጢአት፡ ወአርትዕ፡ እዴከ፡ ወአንጽሕ፡ [ልብከ]፡ እምኵሉ፡ ዐመፃ።
要除掉過犯，端正你的手；要從一切的罪中潔淨你的心。
Put away wrong doing, and order your hands aright, And cleanse your heart from all manner of sin.
38:11
አብአ፡ መባአከ፡ ወተዘከር፡ ስንዳሌ፡ ወአሥብሕ፡ መሥዋዕተከ፡ በከመ፡ ይትከሀለከ።
要獻上馨香之氣和細麵作記念，又獻上肥美的供物，像是力所不及仍盡力獻上的。
Give a sweet savor, and a memorial of fine flour; And make fat your offering, as one that is not.
38:12
ወግበር፡ ሎቱ፡ ፍኖተ፡ ለዐቃቤ፡ ሥራይ፡ እስመ፡ ሎቱኒ፡ እግዘአብሔር፡ ፈጠሮ፡ ወኢታርሕቆ፡ እምኀቤከ፡ እስመ፡ ሎቱኒ፡ ትፈቅዶ።
然後要給醫生留地步，因為主也造了他；不要讓他離開你，因為你需要他。
Then give place to the physician, for verily the Lord has created him; And let him not go from you, for you have need of him.
38:13
እስመቦ፡ ጊዜ፡ ይከውን፡ አሶት፡ በእዴሆሙ።
有時候，醫治的成效也在他們的手中。
There is a time when in their very hands is the issue for good.
38:14
እስመ፡ እሙንቱኒ፡ ይስእሉ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ይርድኦሞ፡ ወየሀቦሙ፡ ዕረፍተ፡ ወከመ፡ ይፌውስ፡ ሎሙ፡ በኵሉ፡ ጊዜ።
因為他們也求告主，使主使他們順利，得以緩解病情、施行醫治，好叫人得以存活。
For they also shall beseech the Lord, That he may prosper them in giving relief and in healing for the maintenance of life.
38:15
ወዘይኤብስ፡ ቅድመ፡ ፈጣሪሁ፡ ይወድቅ፡ በእደ፡ ዐቃቤ፡ ሥራይ።
得罪造他者的人，願他落在醫生的手中。
He that sins before his Maker, Let him fall into the hands of the physician.
38:16
ብኪ፡ ወልድየ፡ ላዕለ፡ ዘሞተ፡ ወላሕዎ፡ ወአሕምም፡ ርእሰከ፡ ወበከመ፡ ግዕዙ፡ ግበር፡ ሎቱ፡ ወቅብሮ፡ ወኢትጸመም፡ ሞቶ፡ (ለዘ፡ ተልእከከ)።
我兒，要為死者落淚，如同受極大痛苦的人，開始哀哭；要照規矩裹殮他的身體，不可疏忽他的安葬。
My son, let your tears fall over the dead, And as one that suffers grievously begin lamentation; And wind up his body according to his due, And neglect not his burial.
38:17
አምርረ፡ በኪዮቶ፡ ወአዕምቅ፡ ላሕዎቶ፡ ወለሕዎ፡ በከመ፡ ግዕዙ፡ አሐተ፡ ዕለተ፡ ወሰኑየ፡ መዋዕለ፡ እንበይነ፡ ሕግ፡ ወእምዝ፡ ንግፍ፡ ላሐከ።
要痛切哭泣，激切哀號，照他當得的舉哀一兩天，免得被人議論；然後因著憂傷而得安慰。
Make bitter weeping, and make passionate wailing, And let your mourning be according to his desert, For one day or two, lest you be evil spoken of: And so be comforted for your sorrow.
38:18
ሐዘን፡ ኢይባእከ፡ እስመ፡ ብዙኃን፡ እለ፡ ሞቱ፡ እንበይነ፡ ሐዘን፡ እስመ፡ ሐዘኑ፡ ለልብ፡ ይሰብሮ፡ ለኀይል።
因為憂傷能招致死亡，心中的憂傷使力量衰殘。
For of sorrow comes death, And sorrow of heart will bow down the strength.
38:19
ወያበጽሕ፡ ለሞት፡ ሐዘን፡ ወትካዝ፡ ወኵሉ፡ መዋዕሊሁ፡ ለነዳይ፡ የኀልቅ፡ በትካዝ።
在患難中，憂傷依然存留；窮人的生活也使心中愁苦。
In calamity sorrow also remains: And the poor man’s life is grievous to the heart.
38:20
ኢታብእ፡ ሐዘን፡ ውስተ፡ ነፍስከ፡ አርሕቃ፡ ለሐዘን፡ እምኔከ።
不要讓你的心陷於憂傷；要記念人的結局，將憂傷除去。
Give not your heart to sorrow: Put it away, remembering the last end:
38:21
ወአእምር፡ ከመ፡ አልባቲ፡ ፈውስ፡ ወርእስከኒ፡ ታሐምም፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘትበቊዕ።
不要忘記：死人是不能再回來的；你哀傷既無益於他，反倒害了自己。
Forget it not, for there is no returning again: Him you shall not profit, and you will hurt yourself.
38:22
ርኢ፡ በላዕሌየ፡ ዘተፈደይኩ፡ አነኒ፡ ወአእምር፡ ከመ፡ ከማሁ፡ ትትፈደይ፡ አንተሂ፡ አነ፡ ዮም፡ ወአንተ፡ ጌሠም።
要記得他所受的判決，因為你的也是如此：昨日臨到我，今日臨到你。
Remember the sentence upon him; for so also shall your be; Yesterday for me, and today for you.
38:23
ዘሞተሰ፡ አዕረፈ፡ ወባሕቱ፡ ግበር፡ ሎቱ፡ ተዝካሮ፡ ወእምዝ፡ ንግፍ፡ ላሐ፡ ከመ፡ ታዕርፍ፡ ነፍሱ።
死者既已安息，就讓對他的記念也歇息；他的靈一離開，你就要因他得安慰。
When the dead is at rest, let his remembrance rest; And be comforted for him, when his spirit departs from him.
38:24
ጥበቢሁ፡ ለጸሐፊ፡ በመዋዕለ፡ ሢመቱ፡ ወይጠብብ፡ ዘኢያበዝኅ፡ ግብሮ።
文士的智慧得自閒暇的機會；少有俗務纏身的人，才能成為智慧人。
The wisdom of the scribe comes by opportunity of leisure; And he that has little business shall become wise.
38:25
ወምንትኑ፡ ይጠብብ፡ ዘያጸንዕ፡ ዕርፎ፡ ወይዜኀር፡ በሐሪሱ፡ ወይቀሥፍ፡ ብዕራሁ፡ ወይትመየጥ፡ በምግባሮሙ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ ተያፍን፡ ወብዕራ።
那扶犁的人，怎能得着智慧呢？他誇耀手中的刺棒，趕牛耕作，終日忙於牲畜的勞役，所談論的盡是牛犢的事。
How shall he become wise that holds the plow, That glories in the shaft of the goad, That drives oxen, and is occupied in their labors, And whose discourse is of the stock of bulls?
38:26
ወኵሉ፡ ኅሊናሁ፡ ዘከመ፡ የሐርስ፡ ትለሚሁ፡ ወትጋሁኒ፡ ዘከመ፡ ያቀምሕ፡ ብዕራሁ፡(ወይሰርሕ፡ እስከ፡ ያገርር፡ ተያፍኒሁ)።
他專心開墾田溝，徹夜留意給牛犢餵草料。
He will set his heart upon turning his furrows; And his wakefulness is to give his heifers their fodder.
38:27
ከማሁ፡ ኵሉ፡ ጸራቢ፡ ወሊቀ፡ ጸረብትኒ፡ ዘሌሊት፡ መዓልተ፡ ይከውኖ። እለ፡ ይገልፉ፡ ወየኀርዉ፡ ዐይነ፡ ማኅተም፡ ኵሉ፡ ኅሊናሁ፡ ዘከመ፡ ያስተማስል፡ በበገጹ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ምክሩ፡ ዘከመ፡ ያጠነቅቅ፡ ኀሪወ፡ ማኅተም፡ ወትጋሁኒ፡ ዘከመ፡ ይፌጽም፡ ግብሮ።
凡工匠和建造師也是如此，他們晝夜辛勞；那些雕刻印章的人，殷勤求新求變，專心摹繪圖樣，徹夜不眠以完成工作。
So is every craftsman and workmaster, That passes his time by night as by day; They that cut gravings of signets, And his diligence is to make great variety; He will set his heart to preserve likeness in his portraiture, And will be wakeful to finish his work.
38:28
ወከማሁ፡ ነሃቢኒ፡ ዘይነብር፡ ኀበ፡ ምንሃብ፡ ወይትሜሀር፡ ግብረ፡ ኀጺን፡ ጢሰ፡ ምንሃብ፡ ያስሕክ፡ ሥጋሁ፡ ወነደ፡ እሳት፡ ይመስዋ፡ ለነፍሱ፡ ወደድምፀ፡ ሰፌልያ፡ ያጸምም፡ እዘኒሁ፡ ወአዕይንቲሁኒ፡ ይጤይቅ፡ ኵሎ፡ አምሳለ፡ መብዐል፡ ወይኄሊ፡ በልቡ፡ በከመ፡ ይፌጽም፡ ግብሮ፡ ወትጋሁኒ፡ ዘከመ፡ ያስተሤኒ፡ መብዐሎ፡ ወምንሀቦ።
鐵匠也是如此，坐在鐵砧旁，細看鐵器的活計；爐火的熱氣熔化他的肌肉，他在熔爐的高熱中奮力勞作；錘子的響聲常在他耳邊，他的眼目盯著器皿的樣式，專心要完成工作，徹夜不眠把它修飾停當。
So is the smith sitting by the anvil, And considering the unwrought iron: The vapor of the fire will waste his flesh; And in the heat of the furnace will he wrestle with his work: The noise of the hammer will be ever in his ear, And his eyes are upon the pattern of the vessel; He will set his heart upon perfecting his works, And And he will be wakeful to adorn them perfectly.
38:29
ወከማሁ፡ ለብሓዊኒ፡ ዘይነብር፡ ዲበ፡ ግብሩ፡ ወያዐውድ፡ መንኰራኵሪሁ፡ በእገሪሁ፡ ወዘልፈ፡ ይኄሊ፡ ዘከመ፡ ይፌጽም፡ ግብሮ፡ ወይኌልቊ፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘገብረ።
窯匠也是如此，坐著作工，用腳轉動輪盤，常為他的工作費盡心思，他一切的活計都按定數而成。
So is the potter sitting at his work, And turning the wheel about with his feet, Who is always anxiously set at his work, And all his handywork is by number;
38:30
ይሜስል፡ ጽቡረ፡ በእደዊሁ፡ ወያደክም፡ ኀይሎ፡ እንዘ፡ ይትቀነይ፡ በእገሪሁ፡ ወኅሊና፡ ልቡ፡ ዘከመ፡ ይፌጽም፡ ግብሮ፡ ወትጋሁኒ፡ በከመ፡ [የአዱ]፡ ሞፍጦ።
他用臂膀塑造泥土，在腳前彎下力氣使之就範；他專心完成釉飾，又徹夜不眠把窯爐弄潔。
He will fashion the clay with his arm, And will bend its strength in front of his feet; He will apply his heart to finish the glazing; And he will be wakeful to make clean the furnace.
38:31
እሉ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ይሴፈዉ፡ በተግባረ፡ እደዊሆሙ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ይጠብቡ፡ በግብሮሙ።
這些人都信靠自己的雙手，各人在自己的工作上得着技巧。
All these put their trust in their hands; And each becomes wise in his own work.
38:32
ወዘእንበሌሆሙ፡ ኢይትከሀል፡ ነቢረ፡ ሀገር፤….።
沒有這些人，城邑就無法建立，人也不能在其中居住來往。
Without these shall not a city be inhabited, And men shall not sojourn nor walk up and down therein.
38:33
ወበውስተ፡ እንግልጋ፡ ኢይመክርዎሙ፡ ምክረ፡ ወበውስተ፡ ዐውድ፡ ኢያነብርዎሙ፡ ምስለ፡ መኰንን፡ ወኢያፈትሕዎሙ፡ ፍትሐ፡ ኵነኔ፡ ወኢያኴንንዎሙ፡ ወኢያመልክዎሙ፡ ወውስተ፡ መስሎ፡ ነገርሂ፡ ኢይሄልዉ።
然而他們不被人召去出謀獻策，在會眾中也不居高位；他們不坐審判官的座位，也不通曉判斷的典章；
They shall not be sought for in the council of the people, And in the assembly they shall not mount on high; They shall not sit on the seat of the judge, And they shall not understand the covenant of judgement: Neither shall they declare instruction and judgement; And where parables are they shall not be found.
38:34
እንበለ፡ ዘይጼንዑ፡ መፍቅደ፡ ብሔር፡ ወጸሎቶሙኒ፡ ከመ፡ ይጥብቡ፡ በውስተ፡ ኪኖሙ።
他們不能闡明教訓與公斷，也不能講說箴言；但他們維繫著世界的根基，他們的祈求就在於本行手藝的工作之中。
But they will maintain the fabric of the world; And in the handywork of their craft is their prayer.
