5:1
ወኢትክዓው፡ ንዋየከ፡ በከንቱ፡ ወኢትበል፡ ኮንየ፡ አከለኒ።
不可把心倚靠在你的財物上，也不可說：「這於我已經足夠了。」
Set not your heart upon your goods; And say not, They are sufficient for me.
5:2
ወኢትትሉ፡ ግዕዘ፡ ኀይለ፡ ነፍስከ።
不可隨從自己的心意與血氣，去行你心中所貪戀的事；
Follow not your own mind and your strength, To walk in the desires of your heart;
5:3
ወኢትበል፡ ኀያል፡ አነ፡ ወመኑ፡ ይክለኒ፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በቀለ፡ ይትቤቀል።
也不可說：「誰能轄制我呢？」因為主必定向你施行報應。
And say not, Who will have dominion over me? For the Lord will surely take vengeance on you.
5:4
ወኢትበል፡ አበስኩሂ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘተፈደይኩ፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይትዔገሥ፡ ጕንዱየ።
不可說：「我犯了罪，又有甚麼臨到我呢？」因為主是恆久忍耐的。
Say not, I sinned, and what happened to me? For the Lord is longsuffering.
5:5
ወኢትፍራህ፡ ተጋንዮ፡ በእንተ፡ ኀጢአትከ፡ ወኢትወስክ፡ ኀጢአተ፡ በዲበ፡ ኀጢአትከ፡ እንዘ፡ ትብል፡ ብዙኅ፡ ምሕረቱ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር።
論到赦罪的事，不可無所畏懼，以致罪上加罪；
Concerning atonement, be not without fear, To add sin upon sins:
5:6
ምሕረትኒ፡ ወመቅሠፍትኒ፡ እምኀቤሁ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኃጥእ፡ ይወርድ፡ መቅሠፍቱ።
也不可說：「祂的憐憫廣大，必赦免我眾多的罪。」因為憐憫與忿怒都在於祂，祂的烈怒必臨到罪人身上。
And say not, His compassion is great; He will be pacified for the multitude of my sins: For mercy and wrath are with him, And his indignation will rest upon sinners.
5:7
ኢታጐንዲ፡ ተጋንዮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢታስተኀልፍ፡ ዕለተ፡ እምዕለት፡ እስመ፡ ግብተ፡ ትመጽእ፡ መንሱት፡ ወትትመነደብ፡ አመ፡ ትመጽእ፡ ፍዳከ፡ ወመቅሠፍትከ።
不可遲延歸向主，不可一日推過一日；因為主的忿怒必忽然發出，在報應之時你必滅亡。
Make no tarrying to turn to the Lord; And put not off from day to day: For suddenly will the wrath of the Lord come forth; And you will perish in the time of vengeance.
5:8
ኢትሰቈቊ፡ ለንዋየ፡ ዓመፃ፡ እስመ፡ ኢይክል፡ አድኅኖተከ፡ አመ፡ ምንዳቤከ።
不可把心倚靠在不義之財上，因為在災禍的日子，這於你毫無益處。
Set not your heart upon unrighteous gains: For you will profit nothing in the day of calamity.
5:9
ወኢታብቁ፡ ለኵሉ፡ ዘነፍስ፡ ወኢትትሉ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘፈተውከ፡ ወኢትኩን፡ ከመ፡ ኃጥእ፡ ዘክልኤ፡ ልሳኑ።
不可隨各樣的風簸揚，也不可在各樣的路上行走；那口是心非的罪人正是如此。
Winnow not with every wind, And walk not in every path: Thus does the sinner that has a double tongue.
5:10
አንተሰ፡ አስምክ፡ ላዕለ፡ ጥበብከ፡ ወአሐደ፡ ይኩን፡ ቃልከ።
要在你的悟性上堅定不移，你的話語當始終如一。
Be stedfast in your understanding; And let your word be one.
5:11
ወኩን፡ ፍጡነ፡ ለሰሚዕ፡ ወመስተዓግሠ፡ ለአውሥኦ፡ ቃል።
你要敏於聆聽，並要以忍耐說出你的回答。
Be swift to hear; And with patience make your answer.
5:12
እመ፡ ብከ፡ ዘታየድዖ፡ ንግሮ፡ ለቢጽከ፡ ወእመ፡ አኮሰ፡ ደይ፡ እዴከ፡ ላዕለ፡ አፉከ።
你若有見識，就當回答你的鄰舍；你若沒有，就用手按住你的口。
If you have understanding, answer your neighbor; And if not, let your hand be upon your mouth.
5:13
ኀሣርከኒ፡ ወክብርከኒ፡ እምቃልከኒ፡ ወእምልሳኑ፡ ለሰብእ፡ ድቀቱ።
榮耀與羞辱都在乎言語，人的舌頭足以使他傾倒。
Glory and dishonor is in talk: And the tongue of a man is his fall.
5:14
ኢትኩን፡ ሐማዬ፡ ወኢትዘለፍ፡ በልሳንከ፡ እስመ፡ ኅዳጥ፡ ኀፍረቱ፡ ለሰራቂ፡ ወእኪት፡ ኀሣሩ፡ ለዘክልኤ፡ ልሳኑ።
不要被稱為搬弄是非的人，也不要用舌頭設下埋伏；因為羞愧臨到竊賊，惡名的定罪臨到口是心非的人。
Be not called a whisperer; And lie not in wait with your tongue: For upon the thief there is shame, And an evil condemnation upon him that has a double tongue.
5:15
በኀበ፡ ዐቢይኒ፡ ወበኀበ፡ ንዑስኒ፡ አስተርኢ፡ ኄረ።
無論大事小事，都不要疏忽無知。
In a great matter and in a small, be not ignorant;
