8:1
ወኢትትገአዝ፡ ምስለ፡ ዐበይተ፡ ሰብእ፡ ከመ፡ ኢትደቅ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሆሙ።
不要與權貴爭鬥，免得你落在他的手中。
Contend not with a mighty man, Lest haply you fall into his hands.
8:2
ወኢትትቀሐው፡ ምስለ፡ ዘይብዕለከ፡ ከመ፡ በብዕሉ፡ ኢይማእከ፡ እስመ፡ ብዙኃን፡ ተሀጕሉ፡ እንበይነ፡ ወርቅ፡ ቀይሕ፡ ወገመጾሙ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ለነገሥት።
不要與富人相爭，免得他以財勢壓倒你；因為金子毀滅了許多人，也使君王的心偏離。
Strive not with a rich man, lest haply he overweigh you: For gold has destroyed many, And turned away the hearts of kings.
8:3
ወኢትትላኰይ፡ ምስለ፡ ብእሲ፡ ነባቢ፡ ወእመ፡ አኮሰ፡ ወጣሕከ፡ ዕፀወ፡ ዲበ፡ እሳተ።
不要與多言的人爭辯，也不要往他的火上添柴。
Contend not with a man that is full of tongue, And heap not wood upon his fire.
8:4
ኢትሥሐቅ፡ ወኢትሣለቅ፡ ምስለ፡ አብድ፡ ከመ፡ ኢታኅሥር፡ አዝማዲከ።
不要與無學識的人戲謔，免得你的祖先受辱。
Jest not with a rude man, Lest your ancestors be dishonored.
8:5
ወኢትትሀበቦ፡ ለዘይትጋነይ፡ በእንተ፡ ጌጋዩ፡ ተዘከር፡ ከመ፡ ኵልነ፡ ኃጥኣን፡ ንሕነ።
當人從罪中回轉時，不要羞辱他；要記得我們都是該受刑罰的。
Reproach not a man when he turns from sin: Remember that we are all worthy of punishment.
8:6
ወኢታስተአክዮ፡ ለሰብእ፡ በርሥዓቲሁ፡ እስመ፡ እምውስቴትነሂ፡ ቦ፡ ዘይረሥዕ።
不要羞辱年老的人，因為我們中間也有人正在變老。
Dishonour not a man in his old age; For some of us also are waxing old.
8:7
ኢትትፌሣሕ፡ ላዕለ፡ ዘሞተ፡ ተዘከር፡ ከመ፡ ኵልነ፡ ንመውት።
不要因人死了就幸災樂禍，要記得我們眾人都要死亡。
Rejoice not over one that is dead: Remember that we die all.
8:8
ኢታስትት፡ ነገረ፡ ጠቢባን፡ ወተመሀር፡ አምሳሊሆሙ፡ እስመ፡ በኀቤሆሙ፡ ትረክባ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ወተፀመድ፡ መኳንንተ።
不要忽略智慧人的言論，要常思想他們的箴言；因為你從他們可學得教誨，並學會如何服事權貴。
Neglect not the discourse of the wise, And be conversant with their proverbs; For of them you will learn instruction, And how to minister to great men.
8:9
ወዕቀብ፡ ተግሣጾሙ፡ ለአእሩግ፡ እስመ፡ እሙንቱሂ፡ በኀበ፡ አበዊሆሙ፡ ተምህሩ፡ ወአንተሂ፡ በኀቤሆሙ፡ ትመሀር፡ ወትረክብ፡ ዘትነብብ፡ በጊዜ፡ ትካዝከ፡ ወተአምር፡ ዘታወሥእ።
不要錯過老人的話語，因為他們也是從他們的先祖學來的；你從他們可學得見識，並在需要時懂得如何回答。
Miss not the discourse of the aged; For they also learned of their fathers: Because from them you will learn understanding, And to give answer in time of need.
8:10
ኢትሱጥ፡ እሳቶሙ፡ ለኃጥኣን፡ ከመ፡ ኢተዐይ፡ በነዶሙ።
不要去煽動罪人的炭火，免得你被他烈焰的火燒著。
Kindle not the coals of a sinner, Lest you be burned with the flame of his fire.
8:11
ኢትትዋሣእ፡ በኀበ፡ ጸላኢ፡ ጸዓሊ፡ ከመ፡ ኢያስሕትከ፡ በቃለ፡ አፉሁ።
不要從狂傲人面前起身離去，免得他像埋伏一樣窺伺你的口。
Rise not up from the presence of an insolent man, Lest he lie in wait as an ambush for your mouth.
8:12
ወኢትለቅሖ፡ ለዘይብዕለከ፡ ወለእመሰ፡ ለቃሕካሁ፡ ረሲ፡ ከመ፡ ዘሀጐልከ።
不要借貸給比你強盛的人；你若借了，就當看作已經損失了。
Lend not to a man that is mightier than yourself; And if you lend, be as one that has lost.
8:13
ኢትትሐበዮ፡ ለዘይጸንዐከ፡ ወለእመሰ፡ ተሐበይካሁ፡ ኀሊ፡ እንከ፡ ዘከመ፡ ትፈዲ፡ ለሊከ።
不要作超過你能力的擔保人；你若作了擔保，就當預備如同必須償還一般。
Be not surety above your power: And if you be surety, take thought as one that will have to pay.
8:14
ኢትሳነን፡ ምስለ፡ መኰንን፡ እስመ፡ በከመ፡ ክብሩ፡ ያገብኡ፡ ሎቱ፡ ፍትሐ።
不要與審判官對簿公堂，因為他們會按他的尊位偏袒他作判決。
Go not to law with a judge; For according to his honor will they give judgement for him.
8:15
ምስለ፡ መስተኀብል፡ ኢትኅበር፡ መንገደ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይትመዐዕ፡ ላዕሌከ፡ እስመ፡ ውእቱሰ፡ ዘፈተወ፡ ልቡ፡ ይገብር፡ ወትመውት፡ አንተ፡ በእበደ፡ ዚኣሁ።
不要與魯莽的人同行於路，免得他連累你；因為他必任意而行，你也必與他的愚妄一同滅亡。
Go not in the way with a rash man, Lest he be aggrieved with you; For he will do according to his own will, And you will perish with his folly.
8:16
ወኢትትገአዝ፡ ምስለ፡ መዐትም፡ ወኢትፃእ፡ ሐቅለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ እስመ፡ ከመ፡ ወኢ፡ ምንት፡ ክዒወ፡ ደም፡ በኀበ፡ ዐይኑ፡ ወበኀበ፡ አልቦ፡ ረድኤት፡ ይወስደከ።
不要與暴怒的人爭鬥，也不要與他同行於曠野；因為在他眼中流血如同無物，在無人相助之處，他必把你擊倒。
Fight not with a wrathful man, And travel not with him through the desert: For blood is as nothing in his sight; And where there is no help, he will overthrow you.
8:17
ወኢትትማከር፡ ምስለ፡ አብድ፡ እስመ፡ ኢይክል፡ ዐቂበ፡ ነገር፡ ዘሰምዐ።
不要與愚人商議，因為他不能隱藏所說的話。
Take not counsel with a fool; For he will not be able to conceal the matter.
8:18
ኢትንግር፡ ቅድመ፡ ነኪር፡ ትካዘከ፡ እስመ፡ ኢተአምር፡ እፎ፡ ይበጽሐከ።
不要在外人面前行隱密的事，因為你不知道他會招出什麼來。
Do no secret thing before a stranger; For you know not what he will bring forth.
8:19
ኢትክሥት፡ ለኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ልብከ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይኩንከ፡ ህጉለ፡ ዕሴትከ።
不要向每個人敞開你的心，免得他不以恩惠回報你。
Open not your heart to every man; And let him not return you a favor.
