37:1

ኵሉ፡ ዘተዓረኮ፡ ይብል፡ ተዓረኩ፡ አነኒ፡ ባሕቱ፡ ቦቱ፡ ዐርከ፡ ለስም፡ በከ፡ ዘይትዓረክ።

凡朋友都會說：「我也是你的朋友。」但有的朋友只是名義上的朋友而已。

Every friend will say, I also am his friend: But there is a friend, which is only a friend in name.

37:2

ወሐዘንሰ፡ ይነብር፡(ውስተ፡ ልብ፡)እስከ፡ አመ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሞት፡(ወቦ፡)ዐርክ፡ ዘይከውነከ፡ ጸላኤ።

當同伴和朋友轉為仇敵時，這豈不是至於死地的憂傷麼？

Is there not a grief in it even to death, When a companion and friend is turned to enmity?

37:3

እኪት፡ ፍትወት፡ እምአይቴኑ፡ አንኰርኰርኪ፡ ወመላእኪ፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔር፡ ኀጢአተ።

惡念哪，你從何處滾滾而來，以詭詐遮蓋了大地？

O wicked imagination, whence came you rolling in To cover the dry land with deceitfulness?

37:4

ወቦ፡ ዐርክ፡ ዘይቀርበከ፡ አመ፡ ትፍሥሕትከ፡ ወእምከመ፡ ተመንደብከ፡ ውእቱ፡ ይከውነከ፡ ፀረከ።

有一種同伴，在朋友歡樂時與他同樂，到患難的時候卻與他作對。

There is a companion, which rejoices in the gladness of a friend, But in time of affliction will be against him.

37:5

ወቦ፡ ዐርክ፡ ዘእንበይነ፡ ከርሡ፡ ይቴክዝ፡ ለከ፡ ሕማመከ፡ ወእምከመቦ፡ ዘዐለወከ፡ ውእቱ፡ ይቀድም፡ ይትቃተለከ።

有一種同伴，為著肚腹與朋友同勞，到爭戰時卻肯為他拿起盾牌。

There is a companion, which for the belly’s sake labores with his friend, In the face of battle will take up the buckler.

37:6

ኢትርሳዕ፡ ዐርከከ፡ እምከመ፡ ተደሎከ፡ ወኢትኅድጎ፡ ለእምከመ፡ ንዋየ፡ ረከብከ።

你心裡不可忘記朋友；在你富足的時候，也不可不記念他。

Forget not a friend in your soul; And be not unmindful of him in your riches.

37:7

ኵሉ፡ መምክር፡ ያመክር፡ ምክረ፡ ወቦ፡ ዘያመክር፡ ዘይበቊዕ፡ ለርእሱ።

凡謀士都會高舉自己的計謀；但有人所謀算的，卻是為自己。

Every counsellor extols counsel; But there is that counsels for himself.

37:8

ዕቀብ፡ ልበከ፡ እምነ፡ ዘያመክረከ፡ ቅድም፡ አእምር፡ ትካዞ፡ በዘይፈቅደከ፡ እስመ፡ እንበይነ፡ ርእሱ፡ ያመክረከ።

你的心要防備謀士，先要知道甚麼於他有利，因為他必為自己籌算，恐怕他為你抽籤定命，

Let your soul beware of a counsellor, And know you before what is his interest (For he will take counsel for himself); Lest he cast the lot upon you,

37:9

ወይብለከ፡ ሠናየ፡ ገበርከ፡ ወያመጽእ፡ ለከ፡ በዘ፡ ያሀጕለከ፡ ንዋየከ፡ ወእምከመ፡ ተጸነስከ፡ ይኔጽረከ፡ ወይሥሕቅ፡ ላዕሌከ።

又對你說：「你的路很好。」然後站在一旁，看你會遭遇甚麼。

And say to you, Your way is good: And he will stand near you, to see what will happen to you.
