29:1
ዘይገብር፡ ምጽዋተ፡ ይሌቅሖ፡ ለቢጹ፡ ወዘኒ፡ የአክል፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሁ፡ ይገብር፡ ትእዛዞ።
施憐憫的人必借貸給鄰舍，伸手扶助人的便是遵守誡命。
He that shows mercy will lend to his neighbor; And he that strengthens him with his hand keeps the commandments.
29:2
ለቅሖ፡ ለቢጽከ፡ አመ፡ ተጽናሱ፡ ከመ፡ ትደለው፡ ምስሌሁ፡ አመ፡ ተድላሁ።
在鄰舍有需要時借給他，到了時候也要償還鄰舍。
Lend to your neighbor in time of his need; And pay you your neighbor again in due season.
29:3
ዕቀብ፡ ነገረከ፡ ወተአመን፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወእንተ፡ ሶበ፡ ፈቀድከ፡ ትረክቦ፡ ለጽድቅከ።
要堅守你的諾言，向他守信，這樣你隨時都能尋得你所需用的。
Confirm your word, and keep faith with him; And at all seasons you shall find what you need.
29:4
ብዙኃን፡ እለ፡ ይመስሎሙ፡ ከመ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ዘረከብዎ፡ ለንዋየ፡ ልቃሕ፡ ወአስርሕዎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ (ለቅሖሙ፡ እለ)፡ ረድእዎሙ፡ (እለ፡ ምንዳቤሆሙ)።
許多人把借貸看作意外之財，使幫助他們的人受了煩擾。
Many have reckoned a loan as a windfall, And have given trouble to those that helped them.
29:5
እስከ፡ ይትሌቃሕ፡ ይስዕመከ፡ ርእሰከ፡ ወያደክም፡ ቃሎ፡ ወይየውሀከ፡ እስከ፡ ይነሥእ፡ ንዋየከ። ወአመ፡ ትትፈደዮ፡ ያነውኅ፡ ለከ፡ ዕድሜከ፡ ወየዐስየከ፡ ቅሥተ፡ ወተስናነ፡ በንዋይከ፡ ወያቴክት፡ (ወያስተኀልፍ)፡ ዕድሜከ።
未得著之前，他親吻人的手，為借鄰舍的錢而低聲下氣；及至償還之期，他卻拖延時日，回以怨懟之言，並推諉於時勢。
Till he has received, he will kiss a man’s hands; And for his neighbor’s money he will speak submissly: And when payment is due, he will prolong the time, And return words of heaviness, and complain of the times.
29:6
እምዕጹብ፡ መንፈቆ፡ ለእመ፡ ፈደየከ፡ ወዓዲ፡ ኪያሁኒ፡ ይመስለከ፡ ከመ፡ ዘበዲበ፡ ምድር፡ ረከብከ። ወእመ፡ አልቦሰ፡ ተሀጕል፡ ወዓዲ፡ ጸላኤ፡ ይከውነከ፡ ወመርገመ፡ ወጽዕለተ፡ የዐስየከ፡ ወያኀስረከ፡ ዘእምአክበረከ።
他若有力償還，債主也僅能勉強收回一半，且要看作意外之財；他若無力，便奪去了債主的錢財，無故為自己樹立仇敵；他以咒詛辱罵相報，以羞辱代替本當的尊敬。
If he prevail, he shall hardly receive the half; And he will count it as a windfall: If not, he has deprived him of his money, And he has gotten him for an enemy without cause: He will pay him with cursings and railings; And for honor he will pay him disgrace.
29:7
ወብዙኃን፡ እለ፡ ኢይሌቅሑ፡ በኢፈቂደ፡ ጻሕብ፡ ወበፈሪሀ፡ ኢይህጐሉ፡ ወከመ፡ ኢይጸልኡ።
許多人因人的惡待而退縮，惟恐無故被人騙取錢財。
Many on account of men’s ill-dealing have turned away; They have feared to be defrauded for nothing.
29:8
ወባሕቱ፡ ለነዳይሰ፡ ተዐገሦ፡ ወምጽዋተኒ፡ ኢታኅልፎ።
然而對窮苦的人，你仍要恆久忍耐，不要使他久候你的施捨。
Howbeit with a man in poor estate be longsuffering; And let him not wait for your alms.
29:9
እንበይነ፡ ምጽዋት፡ ተወከፎ፡ ለነዳይ፡ ወእስመ፡ ጽኑስ፡ ውእቱ፡ ኢታውጽኦ፡ ዕራቆ።
要為誡命的緣故扶助貧窮人，按他的需要，不要使他空手回去。
Help a poor man for the commandment’s sake; And according to his need send him not empty away.
29:10
ህጐል፡ ወርቀከ፡ እምትህጐል፡ ዐርከከ፡ ወቢጸከ፡ ወእምይዝሐልውስተ፡ መድፍን፡ ወይትሀጐል፡ ታሕተ፡ እብን።
為弟兄朋友的緣故，不惜捨棄銀錢，不要讓它鏽蝕在石頭下以致失喪。
Lose your money for a brother and a friend; And let it not rust under the stone to be lost.
29:11
አስተዋጽኦ፡ ለመድፍንከ፡ በእንተ፡ ትእዛዙ፡ ለልዑል፡ ወይረብሐከ፡ ፈድፋደ፡ እመዛግብተ፡ ወርቅ።
要照至高者的誡命安放你的財寶，它必使你獲益勝過金子。
Bestow your treasure according to the commandments of the Most High; And it shall profit you more than gold.
29:12
ዝግባ፡ ለምጽዋት፡ ውስተ፡ አብያቲከ፡ ወይእቲ፡ ትኄይስ፡ አድኅኖተከ፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ ምንዳቤከ።
要把施捨積藏在你的庫房裡，它必救你脫離一切的災禍。
Shut up alms in your store-chambers; And it shall deliver you out of all affliction:
29:13
እመኒ፡ በኲናት፡ በንዋየ፡ ሐቅል፡ ትበድር፡ ይእቲ፡ (ወትመውእ፡ ለከ፡ ጸላኤከ)፡ ወትትቃተል፡ ለከ፡ ፀረከ።
在仇敵面前，它必為你爭戰，勝過堅固的盾牌與沉重的長矛。
It shall fight for you against your enemy Better than a mighty shield and a ponderous spear.
29:14
ብእሲሰ፡ ኄር፡ ይትሐበዮ፡ ለዐርኩ፡ ወዘኢየኀፍር፡ ይትዔወር።
善人必為鄰舍作擔保，喪盡羞恥的人卻必撇棄他。
A good man will be surety for his neighbor; And he that has lost shame will fail him.
29:15
ዕሴቶ፡ ለዘ፡ ተሐበየከ፡ ኢትርሳዕ፡ ሎቱ፡ እስመ፡ መጠወ፡ ነፍሶ፡ ህየንቴከ።
不要忘記擔保人的恩惠，因為他為你捨了自己的性命。
Forget not the good offices of your surety; For he has given his life for you.
29:16
ሠናይ፡ ተሐበዮ፡ ለአጥፍኦ፡ እኩይ።
罪人必敗壞擔保人的好處，
A sinner will overthrow the good estate of his surety;
29:17
ወኃጥእሰ፡ ይረስዕ፡ ዕሴተ፡ ዘአድኀኖ።
忘恩負義的人必撇棄那拯救他的人。
And he that is of an unthankful mind will fail him that delivered him.
29:18
ብዙኃነ፡ ኄራነ፡ አሕመሞሙ፡ ተሐበዮ፡ ወሆኮሙ፡ ከመ፡ ማዕበለ፡ ባሕር፡ ወአስሐቶሙ፡ ለዕደው፡ ጽኑዓን፡ ወውስተ፡ አሕዛበ፡ ባዕድ፡ አፍለሶሙ።
作擔保毀了許多本可亨通的人，將他們搖撼如海中的波浪；又把有勢力的人趕離家園，使他們流落異族之中。
Suretiship has undone many that were prospering, And shaken them as a wave of the sea: Mighty men has it driven from their homes; And they wandered among strange nations.
29:19
ኃጥእሰ፡ ይትመነሶ፡ በሕቢት፡ ወዘይሤሥዕ፡ በረባሕ፡ ይወድቅ፡ ውስተ፡ መንሱት።
陷入擔保、又貪攬工程的罪人，必落入訴訟之中。
A sinner that falls into suretiship, And undertakes contracts for work, shall fall into lawsuits.
29:20
ተወከፍ፡ ቢጸከ፡ በአምጣነ፡ ኀይልከ፡ ወተዐቀብ፡ ርእሰከ፡ ኢያስሕትከ።
要照你的能力扶助鄰舍，也要留心自己，免得你也陷入其中。
Help your neighbor according to your power, And take heed to yourself that you fall not to the same.
29:21
ቀዳሜ፡ ሕይወትከ፡ እክል፡ ወማይ፡ ወልብስ፡ ወቤት(ከሰ)፡ ኀበ፡ ትሴውር፡ ኀፍረተከ።
生活所必需的乃是水、餅、衣服，以及遮蔽羞恥的房屋。
The chief thing for life is water, and bread, And a garment, and a house to cover shame.
29:22
ይኄይስ፡ ትጸነስ፡ በታሕተ፡ ሠርዌ፡ ቤትከ፡ እምትደለው፡ ወትትፈጋዕ፡ በቤተ፡ ባዕድ፡ በንዋየ፡ ነኪር።
窮人在自己簡陋遮蔽下的生活，勝過在別人家中享用的豐盛筵席。
Better is the life of a poor man under a shelter of logs, Than sumptuous fare in another man’s house.
29:23
ለንኡስኒ፡ ወለዐቢይኒ፡ አሠኒ፡ ግዕዘከ፡ ወቃለከ።
無論所有的是少是多，都要知足，就不致聽見寄居的辱罵。
With little or with much, be well satisfied.
29:24
እኩይ፡ ሕይወቱ፡ ለዘይትፋለስ፡ እምቤት፡ ቤተ፡ ወኀበ፡ ኀደርከ፡ ዑቅ፡ ኢታሕሥም፡ አፉከ።
從這家漂泊到那家是悲慘的生活；你在寄居之處，連口也不敢開。
It is a miserable life to go from house to house: And where you are a sojourner, you shall not dare to open your mouth.
29:25
ወእመ፡ አኮሰ፡ ታበልዕኒ፡ ወታሰቲኒ፡ ወአኰቴተ፡ አልብከ፡ ወምስለ፡ ኵሉዝ፡ መራር፡ ያውሥኡከ።
你款待人、給人喝，卻得不到感謝；除此之外，還要聽見苦毒的話。
You shall entertain, and give to drink, and have no thanks: And besides this you shall hear bitter words.
29:26
ወአመሰ፡ ትዴለው፡ ይብሉከ፡ ባእ፡ ኀዳሪነ፡ ሥራዕ፡ ማእደ፡ ወአብልዐነ፡ ዘብከ።
主人說：『過來吧，寄居的，擺設筵席；你手中若有什麼，就拿來給我喫。』
Come hither, you sojourner, furnish a table, And if you have anything in your hand, feed me with it.
29:27
ወእምከመ፡ ተጸነስከ፡ ይብሉከ፡ ፃእ፡ ኀዳሪነ፡ በጽሐ፡ ማኅፈርነ፡ ንፈቅድ፡ ቤተነ።
又說：『寄居的，從尊位前退下吧，我的弟兄來作我的客了，我需要用我的房屋。』
Go forth, you sojourner, from the face of honor; My brother is come to be my guest; I have need of my house.
29:28
ዕጹብ፡ ዝነገር፡ በኀበ፡ ብእሲ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ያኀስረከ፡ ዘአኅደ[ረ]ከ፡ ወይዘረክየከ፡ ዘለ[ቅሐ]ከ።
這些事使有見識的人深感為難：寄人籬下的責備，與債主的辱罵。
These things are grievous to a man of understanding; The upbraiding of house-room, and the reproaching of the money-lender.
