Ob hoc apud Mediolanum Episcoporum concilium convocatur: plures decepti. Dionysius vero, Eusebius, Paulinus, Rhodanius, et Lucifer, dolum in negotio esse proclamantes, asserentesque quod subscriptio in Athanasium, non aliam ob caussam, quam destruendae fidei moliretur, in exilium trusi sunt. His etiam Hilarius jungitur, caeteris vel ignorantibus, ve non credentibus fraudem.
On this account a council of bishops was convoked at Milan; many were deceived. But Dionysius, Eusebius, Paulinus, Rhodanius, and Lucifer, proclaiming that there was fraud in the affair, and asserting that the subscription against Athanasius was being contrived for no other reason than to destroy the faith, were thrust into exile. To these Hilary also was joined, while the rest either were ignorant of the deceit or did not believe it.
