And in the seventh year Jodae grew strong, and he took the centurions, Azarias son of Joram, and Ismael son of Joanan, and Azarias son of Obed, and Maasaias son of Adaias, and Elisaphan son of Zacharias, with him into the house.
And they went around Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of the families of Israel; and they came to Jerusalem.
And all the assembly of Judah made a covenant in the house of God with the king. And he showed them the king's son and said to them, Behold, the king's son! Let him reign, as the Lord spoke concerning the house of David.
Now this is the thing that you shall do: let a third of you, of the priests and of the Levites, come in on the sabbath, and into the gates of the entrances.
And let no one enter the house of the Lord except the priests and the Levites; and those of the Levites who minister, they shall enter, for they are holy. And let all the people keep the charges of the Lord.
And the Levites shall encircle the king round about, each man's weapon in his hand; and whoever enters into the house shall die. And they shall be with the king as he goes in and goes out.
And the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jodae the priest commanded; and each took his men, from the beginning of the sabbath until the going out of the sabbath, for Jodae did not dismiss the divisions.
And he stationed all the people, each man with his weapons, from the right side of the house to the left side of the altar and of the house, around the king.
And he brought out the king's son and put upon him the crown and the testimonies, and they made him king. And Jodae and his sons anointed him and said, Long live the king!
And she looked, and behold, the king was at his station, and at the entrance were the rulers, and the trumpets around the king; and all the people rejoiced and sounded the trumpets, and the singers with instruments were singing and leading in praise. And Gotholia tore her robe and cried out and said, Conspiring, you conspire!
And Jodae the priest went out, and Jodae the priest commanded the centurions and the commanders of the army and said to them, Put her outside the house, and go in after her, and let her die by the sword; for the priest said, Let her not die in the house of the Lord.
And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal and pulled it down, and they broke in pieces its altars and its idols; and they put Matthan the priest of Baal to death before his altars.
And Jodae the priest took in hand the works of the house of the Lord by the hand of the priests and Levites, and he restored the divisions of the priests and of the Levites that David had appointed over the house of the Lord, to offer up whole burnt offerings to the Lord as it is written in the law of Moses, with gladness and with songs, by the hand of David.
And he took the heads of families and the mighty men and the rulers of the people and all the people of the land, and they brought the king up to the house of the Lord; and he entered through the inner gate into the king's house, and they seated the king on the throne of the kingdom.
