And he was seeking the Lord in the days of Zacharias, who had understanding in the fear of the Lord; and in his days he sought the Lord, and the Lord prospered him.
And he went out and fought against the Philistines, and pulled down the walls of Geth and the walls of Iabne and the walls of Azotus; and he built cities of Azotus and among the Philistines.
And he built towers in the wilderness and hewed out many cisterns, for he had much livestock in Sephela and in the plain, and vinedressers in the hill country and in Carmel; for he was a lover of farming.
And Ozias had forces that made war and went out to battle array by number; and their number was recorded by the hand of Iiel the scribe and Maasaias the judge, by the hand of Ananias the king's deputy.
And with them was a fighting force of three hundred and seven thousand five hundred; these were the ones who made war with mighty strength, to help the king against the adversaries.
And he made in Jerusalem engines devised by a designer, to be upon the towers and upon the corners, to shoot with arrows and great stones; and the making of them was heard of far away, for he was marvellously helped until he grew strong.
And when he grew strong, his heart was lifted up to his ruin; and he did wrong against the Lord his God, and entered into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
And they stood against Ozias the king and said to him, 'It is not for you, Ozias, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who have been sanctified, to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have departed from the Lord, and this will not be for glory to you from the Lord God.'
And Ozias was enraged, and in his hand was the censer to burn incense in the temple; and while he was raging at the priests, the leprosy rose up on his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, above the altar of incense.
And the chief priest and the priests turned toward him, and behold, he was leprous on the forehead; and they hurried him out from there, and he himself also hastened to go out, because the Lord had reproved him.
And Ozias the king was leprous until the day of his death, and he dwelt as a leper in the house of apphousoth, for he was cut off from the house of the Lord; and Ioatham his son was over his kingdom, judging the people of the land.
And Ozias slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial of the kings, for they said, 'He is a leper.' And Ioatham his son reigned in his place.
