Seeing then that so many and such great men, thus witnessed to, have by their obedience made better not only us but also the generations before us—those who received His oracles in fear and truth—the humility and lowliness of their minds, through obedience, have profited us all.
Having then partaken of many and great and glorious deeds, let us run back to the goal of peace that was handed down to us from the beginning, and let us fix our gaze upon the Father and Creator of the whole world, and cleave to His magnificent and surpassing gifts and benefits of peace.
Let us behold Him with our mind, and look with the eyes of the soul upon His longsuffering will; let us consider how He is free from anger toward all His creation.
