First Epistle of Clement 44

44:1

Καὶ οἱ ἀπόστολοι ἡμῶν ἔγνωσαν διὰ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ὅτι ἔρις ἔσται ἐπὶ τοῦ ὀνόματος τῆς ἐπισκοπῆς

And our apostles knew, through our Lord Jesus Christ, that there would be strife over the office of the bishopric.

我們的眾使徒也藉著我們的主耶穌基督知道，必有人為監督的職分起爭競。

44:2

διὰ ταύτην οὖν τὴν αἰτίαν πρόγνωσιν εἰληφότες τελείαν κατέστησαν τοὺς προειρημένους, καὶ μπταξὺ ἐπινομὴν δεδωκασιν, ὅπως, ἐὰν κοιμηθῶσιν, διαδέξωνται ἕτεροι δεδοκιμασμὲνοι ἅνδρες τὴν λειτουργίαν αὐτῶν

For this cause, therefore, having received perfect foreknowledge, they appointed the persons aforesaid, and afterward gave an instruction that, when these should fall asleep, other approved men should succeed to their ministry.

所以為這緣故，他們既得了完全的豫知，就立了上述的人，後來又作了安排，叫這些人若睡了，就有別的蒙稱許的人接續他們的職事。

44:3

τοὺς οὖν κατασταθέντας ὑπ ἐκείνων ἢ μεταξὺ ὑφ̓ ἑτέρων ἐλλογίμων ἀνδρῶν συνενδοκησάσης τῆς ἐκκλησίας πάσης, καὶ λειτουργήσαντας ἀμέμπτως τῷ ποιμνίῳ τοῦ Χριστοῦ μετὰ ταπεινοφροσύνης, ἡσύχως καὶ ἀβαναύσως, μεμαρτυρημένους τε πολλοῖς χρόνοις ὑπὸ πάντων, τούτους οὐ δικαίως νομίζομεν ἀποβάλλεσθαι τῆς λειτουργίας

Those, therefore, who were appointed by them, or afterward by other eminent men with the consent of the whole church, and who have ministered blamelessly to the flock of Christ with humility, quietly and without vulgarity, and have for a long time been borne witness to by all—these men we consider to be unjustly thrust out from their ministry.

所以那些由使徒所立的，或後來經全教會贊同、由別的有名望之人所立的，並且存謙卑的心，安靜、不粗鄙地無可指摘地服事基督羊群、又長久得著眾人見證的人——我們認為把這樣的人從職事中革除，乃是不義的。

44:4

ἁμαρτία γὰρ οὐ μικρὰ ἡμῖν ἔσται, ἐὰν τοὺς ἀμέμπτως καὶ ὁσίως προσενεγκόντας τὰ δῶρα τῆς ἐπισκοπῆς ἀποβάλωμεν

For it will be no small sin to us, if we cast out from the bishopric those who have blamelessly and holily offered the gifts.

因為我們若把那些無可指摘、聖潔地獻過禮物的人從監督的職分中革除，這在我們便不是小罪。

44:5

μακάριοι οἱ προοδοιπορήσαντες πρεσβύτεροι, οἵτινες ἔγκαρπον καὶ τελείαν ἔσχον τὴν ἀνάλυσιν: οὐ γὰρ εὐλαβοῦνται μή τις αὐτοὺς μεταστήσῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱδρυμένου αὐτοῖς τόπου

Blessed are the elders who have gone before, who attained a fruitful and perfect departure; for they have no fear lest anyone should remove them from the place established for them.

那些先前去世的長老是有福的，他們得了結滿果子、完全的終結；因為他們不必憂慮有人把他們從那為他們所立定的地位上挪去。

44:6

ὁρῶμεν γάρ, ὅτι ἐνίους ὑμεῖς μετηγάγετε καλῶς πολιτευομένους ἐκ τῆς ἀμέμπτως αὐτοῖς τετιμημένης λειτουργίας

For we see that you have removed some who lived honorably from the ministry that was blamelessly honored by them.

因為我們看見，你們竟把一些行事端正的人，從那由他們無可指摘地擔當、得享尊榮的職事上挪去了。
