48:1
Let us therefore put this away quickly, and fall down before the Master and beseech him with tears, that he may become merciful and be reconciled to us, and restore us to the honorable and pure conduct of our brotherly love.
For this is the gate of righteousness, opened unto life, as it is written: "Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord."
"This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it."
Many gates therefore being opened, the one that is in righteousness is this one which is in Christ, in which all are blessed who have entered and who direct their course in holiness and righteousness, accomplishing all things without disturbance.
Let a man be faithful, let him be able to utter knowledge, let him be wise in the discernment of words, let him be pure in his deeds.
For by so much the more ought he to be humble-minded, in proportion as he seems to be the greater, and to seek the common good of all, and not his own.
