but we shall be innocent of this sin, and we will ask, making earnest entreaty and supplication, that the Creator of all things may keep unbroken the number of his elect that has been numbered in all the world, through his beloved Servant Jesus Christ, through whom he called us from darkness to light, from ignorance to the full knowledge of the glory of his name.
Grant us to hope upon your name, the primal source of all creation, having opened the eyes of our heart to know you, who alone are highest among the high, the Holy One who rests among the holy; who brings low the insolence of the proud, who frustrates the devices of the nations; who lifts up the lowly to the heights and brings down the lofty; who makes rich and makes poor; who kills and makes alive; the only benefactor of spirits and God of all flesh; who looks into the depths, the overseer of human works, the helper of those in danger, the savior of the despairing, the creator and overseer of every spirit; who multiplies the nations upon the earth and chose out from among all those who love you through Jesus Christ your beloved Servant, through whom you instructed us, sanctified us, honored us.
We beseech you, Master, to be our helper and defender. Save those of us who are in affliction; have mercy on the lowly; raise up the fallen; show yourself to those in need; heal the sick; turn back those of your people who wander; feed the hungry; ransom our prisoners; raise up the weak; comfort the faint-hearted. Let all the nations know you, that you alone are God, and that Jesus Christ is your Servant, and that we are your people and the sheep of your pasture.
