Since, then, these things are plain to us, and we have looked into the depths of the divine knowledge, we ought to do all things in order, as many as the Master has commanded us to perform at the appointed seasons.
Both where and by whom He wills them to be performed, He Himself has determined by His supreme will, that all things being done holily according to His good pleasure might be acceptable to His will.
Those, therefore, who make their offerings at the appointed seasons are acceptable and blessed; for following the ordinances of the Master they do not go astray.
For to the high priest his proper services have been given, and to the priests their proper place has been appointed, and upon the Levites their proper ministries are laid; the layman is bound by the ordinances for the laity.
