Concerning the things that pertain to our religion and that are most profitable for a virtuous life to those who wish to direct their course in godliness and righteousness, we have written to you sufficiently, men and brothers.
For concerning faith and repentance and genuine love and self-control and sobriety and patience, we have touched upon every point, reminding you that you ought in righteousness and truth and long-suffering to please the almighty God in holiness, being of one mind without bearing grudges, in love and peace with persistent gentleness, even as our forefathers, of whom we spoke before, were well-pleasing, being humble-minded toward the Father and Creator God and toward all men.
And these things we have recalled the more gladly, since we knew clearly that we were writing to faithful and most distinguished men, who have bent over the oracles of the instruction of God.
