Verum rhapsodia potius dicenda exdiversis lOcis congesta, cujus non exigua pars legitur in sermone i de Natali Domini, quem inter suppositos sancto Maximo Taurinensi collocavimus in appendice pag. 26.
「至親愛的弟兄們，讓我們聆聽今日那有福的福音作者如何向我們陳明基督降生的奧祕」等等。結尾為：「因此我們慶祝這節日，不是出於人的虔敬，而是出於神的俯就」等等。摘錄者註明此篇取自十一世紀的 3783 號抄本，並在其他多份手抄本中歸於聖馬克西姆斯名下。但它其實更應稱為一篇從各處拼湊而成的雜集，其中不小的一部分見於論主降生的第一篇講道，我們已把那篇歸入誤託聖都靈馬克西姆斯之列，置於附錄第二十六頁。
'Let us hear, most beloved brethren, how the blessed evangelist has today set forth to us the mystery of Christ's generation,' etc. It ends: 'Therefore we celebrate this festal day not of human devotion but of divine condescension,' etc. It is noted by the excerptor as unearthed from codex 3783 of the eleventh century, and in several other manuscripts attributed to Saint Maximus. But it should rather be called a rhapsody heaped together from various places, no small part of which is read in the first sermon on the Nativity of the Lord, which we have placed among those wrongly ascribed to Saint Maximus of Turin, in the appendix, page 26.
