122:1
Litteras tuae bealitudinis cum decentiomni episcopoveneratione suscepimus: pet quas tuam fidem puram et talem cognovimus, qualis debet rum sanctitate sacro praeberi templo. Ego vero similiter ac meus dominus tranquillisimus imperator,meusconjux, in eadem semper et mansimus et manemus, omnem pravitatem atque pollutionem et maleficium declinantes. Sanctissimus igitur gloriosae Constantinopolis episcopus Anatolius in eadem fide permansit atque religione, et tuarum litterarum apostolicam confessionem complectitur,illo errore sublato qui ab aliquibus nunc ortus est, sicut ex ejus quoque litteris clarius tua sanctitas agnoscere poterit;
我們以一切合宜的主教敬意接納了你至福的來信:藉此我們認出你的信仰純正,正是那應當連同聖潔一併呈獻於神聖聖殿的信仰。至於我,正如我的主、那至為安詳的皇帝、我的夫君一樣,既一向、且如今仍常存於同一信仰之中,摒棄一切邪僻、污穢與邪術。因此,光榮的君士坦丁堡至聖主教阿納托利烏斯,仍持守於同一信仰與宗教之中,並擁抱你來信中使徒性的告白,除去那如今從某些人興起的謬誤,正如你的聖德也能從他自己的信中更清楚地認出;
We have received the letters of your blessedness with all becoming episcopal veneration: through which we have recognized your faith to be pure and such as ought, together with holiness, to be presented to the sacred temple. But I, likewise as my lord the most tranquil emperor, my consort, have both remained and remain ever in the same faith, declining all depravity and pollution and maleficence. The most holy Anatolius, therefore, bishop of glorious Constantinople, has remained in the same faith and religion, and embraces the apostolic confession of your letters, that error being removed which has now arisen from certain men, as your holiness will be able to recognize more clearly also from his own letters;
122:2
and likewise he has, without any delay, subscribed to the letter of the catholic faith which your blessedness directed to Flavian, bishop of holy memory. And therefore, in whatever manner your reverence shall have perceived it, may you deign to signify it, so that all the bishops also of the whole East, of Thrace and Illyricum—as it has pleased also our lord my most pious emperor and consort—may speedily convene from the Eastern parts into one city; and there, a council being held, both concerning the catholic confession and concerning those bishops who before this were separated, they may decree, at your instigation, as the faith and Christian piety demand.
122:3
Beyond this, moreover, let your Holiness know that, by command of our lord and most serene prince, my consort, the body of the bishop Flavian of holy memory has been brought to the glorious city of Constantinople and has been fittingly laid to rest in the basilica of the Apostles, in which former bishops have been accustomed to be buried. And in like manner he has commanded, by the authority of his pragmatic decree, that the bishops be brought back who for this same cause were sent into exile because they had joined with the most holy Flavian for the concord of the catholic faith; so that, by the approval of a synod and the sentence of all the bishops assembling together, they may be adjudged to receive their episcopate and their own churches.
122:4
I rejoice to have received the letters of your Piety, and I recognize that it pertains to the manifestation of all prosperity, since the openings of your discourses make us secure concerning the integrity of the faith. Therefore how great thanks we should render to your Clemency, acknowledge not from our words, but from your own benefits which you have bestowed upon the Church: for we do not doubt what a Rewarder you have in all things, in whose religion you are so devoutly solicitous; and who, as the matter itself demonstrates, has chosen you, O most glorious one, for this end, that the catholic faith might be defended from the snares of its enemies. May your Piety graciously accept that I have now written this briefly through the clerics of my brother Anatolius.
122:5

But the fuller account of all that pertains to my care for the state of the Churches and the concord of the Lord's priests we have directed in writings through our legates. Given on the Ides of April, in the consulship of the most illustrious man Adelphius.
