Curse esse dilectioni tuae charitatis officia libenter accipio; et ut his crebrius utaris exhortor: quoniam ad totius Ecclesiæ pertinet utilitatem,cum quæ agun tur agnoscimus. In qua autem sollicitudine dilectionem tuam vigilare conveniat indubitanter intelligis; (1) quia aliquantas apud vos pravorum hominum resed isse reliquias recognoscis, quibus comprimendis, vel potius, quantum Dominus auxiliatur, abolendis cupimus te instanter incumbere: ne, quod absit, sub aliqua segnitie lenitatis, quæ tardius fuerint destructa revalescant. Datum tertio idus Martii, Valentiniano Augusto vin consule.

I gladly receive that the offices of charity are a concern to your love; and I exhort that you make use of them more frequently: since it pertains to the benefit of the whole Church, when we come to know the things which are done. But in what solicitude it befits your love to be vigilant you undoubtedly understand; because you recognize that some remnants of depraved men have settled among you, in the suppressing, or rather — as far as the Lord gives aid — the abolishing of which we desire you to press on urgently: lest, which God forbid, under some sloth of leniency, the things which have been more tardily destroyed should regain strength. Given on the third day before the Ides of March, Valentinian Augustus being consul for the eighth time.
162:2
Gratias Deo, quod in omnibus quas ad Eccesiæ statum et ad fidei pertinent sacramentum, in nullo dilectionis tuae industria me fefellit, quam intelligo vigilanter prospicere, ne quid adversum evangelicam apostolicamque doctrinam haereticorum insidiæ valeant obtinere. Siquidem, ut indicare dignariseaquæ (tn) Eutychianistae post obitum venerabilis memoriae principis Marciani excitare moliti sunt, efficacia tua et eorum quos tecum DeiSpiritus incitavit,agente causam suam ipsa veritate,deslructasunt:
感謝神，因為在凡關乎教會情況與信德聖事之事上，你愛心的勤勉在任何一件事上都未曾使我失望——我明白它警醒地守望，免得異端的網羅得逞、奪取任何違背福音與使徒教義之物。既然正如你俯允告知的，歐迪克派在可敬紀念之君王馬爾基安死後圖謀挑起之事，已藉你的效力、以及那些神之聖靈與你一同激動之人的效力被摧毀，是那真理本身為自己的緣由辯護：
Thanks be to God, that in all things which pertain to the state of the Church and to the sacrament of the faith, in nothing has the diligence of your love failed me, which I understand to keep watch vigilantly, lest the snares of the heretics avail to obtain anything against the evangelical and apostolic doctrine. Since indeed, as you deign to indicate, those things which the Eutychianists strove to stir up after the death of Prince Marcian of venerable memory, have been destroyed by your efficacy and that of those whom the Spirit of God has stirred up with you, the very truth pleading its own cause:
162:3
quia vera et fraternitati tuæ, et omnibus fidelibus Christi, maximeque glorioso et catholico, ut probamus, Augusto nihil est ad æternam beatitudinem fructuosius quam ut ea quæ ab ipso spei nostrae auctore fundatasunt, nulla perversorum bominum improbitate violentur, sed ad perpetem Ecclesiae tranquilitatem securapace permaneant. Quod ergo adjuvante Domino pie utiliterque curatum est, perseveranti opere muniatur. Nam quidam ad nos rumores de Alexandrini populi ausibus deferuntur,quos ideo plenius 1300 indicare non possumus,quianecdum ex integro quæ dicuntur gesta cognovimus.

because there is nothing more fruitful unto eternal blessedness, both for your Fraternity and for all the faithful of Christ, and especially for the glorious and catholic Augustus (as we prove), than that those things which were founded by the very author of our hope should be violated by no wickedness of perverse men, but should abide in secure peace unto the perpetual tranquility of the Church. What therefore has, with the Lord's help, been piously and profitably taken care of, let it be fortified by persevering work. For certain rumors are brought to us concerning the audacities of the Alexandrian people, which we cannot for that reason more fully indicate, because we have not yet fully come to know the deeds which are reported.
162:4
Sed hoc vobis pro universali Ecclesia laborandum est, ut si vera sunt quæ acta dicuntur, sanctæ Chalcedonenai synodo præjudicare non possint,utquæinstruenteSpiritu sancto ad totius m undi salutem definita sunt, inviolata permaneant, Dat. kal. Junii, Constantino et Rufo coss.
但你必須為普世教會而勞力於此：即倘若所傳被行之事屬實，它們絕不能有損於卡爾西頓聖大公會議，使那些藉聖神教導、為普世救恩所欽定之事得以不受侵犯地常存。頒於六月初一，君士坦丁與魯弗斯任執政官之時。
But this must be labored for by you on behalf of the universal Church, that if those things which are said to have been done are true, they may not be able to prejudice the holy Council of Chalcedon, so that the things which, by the Holy Spirit instructing, were defined for the salvation of the whole world, may remain inviolate.
