Ex Manichæo factus orthodoxus, si inventus fuerit ea quae [pristini] erroris erant facere, aut saltem una degere duntaxat, et conversari cum Manichæis, nec confestim prodiderit illa competenti judici, ultimo suppticio punitur. — § i- Idem qui in dignitatibus et militiis sunt sollicite eos qui in suo consortio sunt ejusmodi inquirant, et prodant: quia si comprehensus Manichaeus dixerit sciri se et nosci talem a quibusdam, congrue illi puniuntur, ut qui eadem deliquerint, tametsi non sint tales; eadem enim delinquere videntur scientes quidem delinquentem, non facientes autem illum manifestum. — § 2. Qui habet libros Manicbaicos, et non manifestat eos, ut comburantur, punitur.
凡從摩尼教徒變為正統信徒的人，若被發現行那些屬於他〔從前〕謬妄的事，或甚至只是與摩尼教徒同住交往，卻不立即向有權限的審判官舉報，便要受極刑。第一節。照樣，願那些在尊位及軍職中的人，殷勤查察並舉發其同夥中此類的人；因為若被捕的摩尼教徒說，他被某些人知曉並認得為此類人，那些人便當受相應的刑罰，視同他們犯了同樣的罪，縱然他們本身並非此類人；因為他們既知曉犯罪者卻不予揭發，便被視為犯了同樣的罪。第二節。凡藏有摩尼教書籍而不交出付火焚燒的人，要受刑罰。
One who from a Manichaean has become orthodox, if he be found doing those things that belonged to his [former] error, or even merely living together and associating with Manichaeans, and does not immediately report them to the competent judge, is punished with the ultimate penalty. § 1. Likewise, let those who are in dignities and in the militias diligently inquire into and report those of their own company who are of this kind; for if a Manichaean who has been apprehended says that he is known and recognized as such by certain persons, those persons are fittingly punished as having committed the same offenses, even though they themselves be not such; for they are seen to commit the same offense, since, knowing the offender, they did not make him manifest. § 2. He who has Manichaean books and does not reveal them, that they may be burned, is punished.
