Venerabilem ecclesiam, etc. Ab Arianis ablata a piunto, sibique habento Ecclesiae Africæ, ut tamen publicas pro illis pensiones conferant, ab iisdem ceptis immobilibus a nemine laedendis. Hæreticusum a baptizato, ad rempublicam non accedito, catechumenum non circumcidito. Nulla omnino hæresis domum aut locum orationis habeto. Carthaginiensis Ecclesia privilegia obtineto, quæ in universam de omnibus dicta sunt ecclesiis in Codice. Qui ad Carthaginiensem ecclesiam confugerit, it impunitatem habeto, nisi homicidium, aut raptum virginis, aut vim in Christianum admiserit. Ecclesiis Africæ ab aliquo pro sua ipsius salute oblata, a nemine prorsus auferuntor.

The venerable church, etc. Things taken away by the Arians, let them be taken away from these and held by the churches of Africa, on condition, however, that they pay the public taxes on their behalf; and let these properties, once received, be harmed by no one. Let no heretic, once baptized, approach the commonwealth; let him not circumcise a catechumen. Let no heresy whatever have a house or place of prayer. Let the church of Carthage hold the privileges which have been spoken generally concerning all churches in the Code. Whoever takes refuge in the church of Carthage, let him have impunity, unless he has committed homicide, or the rape of a virgin, or violence against a Christian. Let the things offered to the churches of Africa by anyone for his own salvation be taken away by no one whatever.
