Ea quæ in beati Job expositione dicta fuerant, et vobis dirigenda scribitis, nisi portitoris præsentium me festinatio coangustasset, cuncta vobis transmittere sine aliqua imminutione voluissem; maxime quia et hoc ipsum opus ad vestram reverentiam scripsi; ut ei quem prae cæteris diligo, in meo judicer labore desudasse. Præterea si vobis indulgeri tempora ab ecclesiastica occupatione cognoscetis, quid sit jam faciendum scitis; quamvis etiam absentem corpore, præsentem mihi te semper intueor, quia vultus tui imaginem intra cordis viscera impressam porto.
那些在講解真福約伯時所說、而你來信囑咐要寄給你的，若非送信人的匆忙催逼了我，我本願毫無刪減地全部寄給你；尤其因為我正是為你的可敬而寫下這部著作，好使我被判為在我的勞苦中為我所最珍愛之人辛勞流汗。此外，若你得知有空閒於教會職務的時間獲准給你，你就知道如今當做什麼；雖然你身體雖不在場，我卻常見你臨在我面前，因為我把你容貌的形像銘刻於我心腑的深處而隨身攜帶。
Those things which had been said in the exposition of blessed Job, and which you write are to be sent to you, I would have wished to transmit all of them to you without any diminution, had not the haste of the bearer of the present letter constrained me; especially because I wrote this very work for your reverence, that I might be judged to have toiled in my labor for him whom I love before others. Moreover, if you learn that times are granted to you free from ecclesiastical occupation, you know what is now to be done; although even absent in body I behold you ever present to me, because I carry the image of your countenance impressed within the depths of my heart.
