Psalms 12

Greek original · 9 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 11ch. 13 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 12 here = Ps 11 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

12:0
To the end, concerning the eighth; a psalm to David.
Save me, O Lord, for the devout has failed; for truths have grown few among the sons of men.
Each one spoke vain things to his neighbour; with deceitful lips, with a heart and a heart they spoke.
May the Lord utterly destroy all deceitful lips and the boastful tongue,
those who said: We will make our tongue great; our lips are our own; who is lord over us?
Because of the misery of the poor and because of the groaning of the needy, now I will arise, says the Lord; I will set him in safety; I will speak openly in it.
The sayings of the Lord are pure sayings, silver refined by fire, tested for the earth, purified sevenfold.
You, O Lord, will guard us and will preserve us from this generation and forever.
The ungodly walk about on every side; according to your loftiness you greatly esteemed the sons of men.
