Psalms 21

Greek original · 14 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 20ch. 22 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 21 here = Ps 20 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

21:0
For the end. A psalm. Of David.
O Lord, in your power the king will be glad, and in your salvation he will greatly rejoice.
You have given him the desire of his soul, and you have not deprived him of the will of his lips. Interlude
For you met him with blessings of goodness; you set a crown of precious stone upon his head.
He asked life of you, and you gave it to him, length of days forever and ever.
Great is his glory in your salvation; glory and majesty you will lay upon him.
For you will give him blessing forever and ever; you will gladden him with joy with your presence.
For the king hopes in the Lord, and in the mercy of the Most High he shall not be shaken.
May your hand be found by all your enemies; may your right hand find all who hate you.
You will make them like a fiery furnace at the time of your presence; the Lord in his wrath will throw them into confusion, and fire will devour them.
You will destroy their fruit from the earth and their seed from among the sons of men.
For they turned evils against you; they devised a plan which they shall not be able to establish.
For you will make them turn their back; among your remaining ones you will make ready their face.
Be exalted, O Lord, in your power; we will sing and sing praise to your mighty deeds.
