Psalms 36

Greek original · 13 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 35ch. 37 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 36 here = Ps 35 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

36:0
To the end. Of the servant of the Lord, of David.
The transgressor says within himself, so as to sin: there is no fear of God before his eyes.
For he acted deceitfully before him, so as to find out his lawlessness and to hate it.
The words of his mouth are lawlessness and deceit; he did not wish to understand so as to do good.
He devised lawlessness upon his bed; he took his stand on every way that is not good, and he did not abhor evil.
O Lord, your mercy is in the heavens, and your truth reaches to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgements are a great deep. O Lord, you will save both humans and beasts.
How you have multiplied your mercy, O God! And the sons of men shall hope in the shelter of your wings.
They shall be made drunk with the fatness of your house, and you will give them to drink of the torrent of your delight.
For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we shall see light.
Extend your mercy to those who know you, and your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.
Let not the foot of pride come upon me, and let not the hand of sinners shake me.
There the workers of lawlessness fell; they were thrust out and shall not be able to stand.
