Psalms 63

Greek original · 12 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 62ch. 64 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 63 here = Ps 62 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

63:0
A psalm to David, when he was in the wilderness of Judaea.
O God, you are my God; to you I rise at dawn. My soul thirsted for you; how many times over does my flesh long for you, in a land desert and trackless and waterless.
So in the holy place I appeared before you, to see your power and your glory.
For your mercy is better than lives; my lips shall praise you.
Thus I will bless you in my life; in your name I will lift up my hands.
May my soul be filled as with fat and richness, and with lips of rejoicing shall my mouth praise.
If I remembered you upon my bed, at dawn I meditated on you.
For you became my helper, and in the shelter of your wings I will rejoice.
My soul clung close behind you; your right hand upheld me.
But they sought my soul in vain; they shall enter the lowest parts of the earth.
They shall be handed over to the power of the sword; they shall be portions for foxes.
But the king shall be glad in God; everyone who swears by him shall be praised, for the mouth of those who speak unjust things has been stopped.
