Legimus quodam loco, quod dum sumus in corpore peregrinamur a Domino (I Cor. v, 6). Quidquid enim nubis de cœlestibus mysteriis traditur, quamlibet indubitabili veritate subsistat, credere debemus quia videre non possumus. Nam in istosæculo, nostrum, nosse tantummodo credere est. Bemi enim mundo corde, quoniam ipsi Deum (Matth. v, 8 ); non dixit vident, sed ridebunt. Unde qui in præsentibus habuerit fidem, ipse in futuris accipiet contemplationem.
我們在某處讀到，我們住在身內，便與主相離（哥林多後書五6）。因為凡所傳給我們關乎天上奧秘的事，無論它何等確立於無可置疑的真理，我們既不能看見，就當相信。因為在今世，對我們而言，「知道」不過就是「相信」。清心的人有福了，因為他們必得見神（馬太福音五8）；祂沒有說「他們看見」，乃說「他們必得見」。因此，凡在現今的事上有信心的，他自己必在將來的事上得著瞻仰。
We read in a certain place that while we are in the body we are pilgrims away from the Lord (2 Cor. 5:6). For whatever is handed down to us of the heavenly mysteries, however much it subsists in indubitable truth, we must believe because we cannot see. For in this age, for us, to know is only to believe. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8); He did not say 'they see,' but 'they shall see.' Wherefore he who has faith in present things will himself receive contemplation in the things to come.
