Constat non minus desiderii mei esse quam debiti, ut officia quae mcrito inclytæ magnitudini orbis devotus impendit, a me qui gratiæ ejus jam dudum videor obligatus, specialius excolantur: maxime cum opportunam nunc occasionem favor divinus obtulerit, in qua imperio celsitudinis suae plena meruerim devotione servire. Quapropter cultoris vestri viri illustris Laurentii filium, quem ad mundum suum dirigi jussio reverenda praecepit, magnificentiae vestræ prxato largissimae sospilatis honore commendo. Augete studio defensionis quod voluistis animo pietatis. In regione expetit patrem, in vobis reperiat paternitatem. Tuimini etiam cum prole susceptum.

It is established to be no less a matter of my desire than of my duty, that the offices which the whole world devoutly renders to your renowned greatness by right should, by me — who already for a long time seem bound to your grace — be cultivated more particularly: especially since divine favor has now offered an opportune occasion, in which I might deserve to serve the command of his Highness with full devotion. Wherefore I commend to your Magnificence the son of your worshiper, the illustrious man Laurentius — whom the venerable command ordered to be sent to his own world — with the pre-eminent honor of most bounteous well-being. Increase by the zeal of protection what you willed by the piety of your heart. In the region he seeks a father; in you let him find fatherhood. Guard him, taken up together with his offspring.

Qui vobis licet satis sit debitor per honorem, pios tamen incipiet debere per sobolem: quod per vos potietur proprii affectus solatio, compensaturus erga vos affectionis experimento. De caetero autem, quantum ad fidcles vestros pertinet, exspectalam semper cupimus jussionem, optamus obedientiæ facultatem. Vos propitia divinitate praestate, ut Romanam sub gloriosissimo principe nostro prosperitatem, in cujus ap:ce digna honoris arce fulgetis, tam serenitate sermonis angusti, quam dignitatis vestræ resciipto mereamur agnoscere.

Although he is sufficiently your debtor through honor, he will nonetheless begin to owe you piously through his offspring: because through you he will enjoy the solace of his own affection, being about to repay you by the proof of his affection. But for the rest, so far as pertains to your faithful ones, we ever desire your long-awaited command, we long for the opportunity of obedience. Do you, by favorable divinity, grant that we may deserve to recognize the Roman prosperity under our most glorious prince — in whose summit you shine as in a worthy citadel of honor — both by the serenity of a brief discourse and by the rescript of your dignity.
