Quantum pertinet ad dignam judicii vestri integritatem, quoscunque honorum privilegiis erigitis, Romanos putare debetis. Ex hac ergo fiducia, non convenit ut ex toto credantur absentes, quos etsi patria separat, militia repræsentat. Unde quod solum valeo, sed utilitate officii animum devotionis ostendens, quid assidue cuperem, ver cum possibilitas permittit allego. Vos nunc clementissimo communi principi quid vellemus asserite. Insinuate attentius obedientiæ famulatum, quem nunc in oDsequio, semper habemus in voto. Suggerite ac pariter commen. date, ab amatore vestro domno et patre meo impletam, me intercedente, principalis reverentiæ jussionem.

As far as pertains to the worthy integrity of your judgment, whomsoever you raise up with the privileges of honors, you ought to reckon as Romans. From this confidence, then, it is not fitting that those be believed wholly absent whom, though their fatherland separates them, their military service represents. Whence — showing the mind of devotion by the only thing I am able to, and by the usefulness of my office — I set forth what I would continually desire, so far as possibility permits. Do you now assert to our most clement common prince what we would wish. Convey more earnestly the service of obedience, which now we hold in compliance, always in aspiration. Suggest and likewise commend that the command of princely reverence has been fulfilled — through my intercession — by your admirer, my lord and father.

Clientis vestri viri illustris Laurentii filius studio meo redditus additur regioni. Miseramus dudum in parenle famulum: ecce adjicimus in filio famulatum. Quo uno vobis directo, qualiler cum aliis agatur advertite. Superest ut præfatus miles vester, cujus proles et illic gratiæ vestræ porrigitur, et hinc patriæ reservatur, commendatus vobis studio meo, ipse commendet quod vel de illius sobolis adeptione jam compos, vel de istius quæ nobiscum redit prospcritate securus est.
你的門客、顯貴之人勞倫提烏斯的兒子，因我的熱心而得歸還，如今加入了這地。我們早先在父親身上遣送了一位僕人：看哪，我們如今在兒子身上再加上一份僕役。從這一位被遣往你那裡的人，可看出對待其餘之人是何等光景。剩下的便是：你那前述的兵士——他的後嗣一方面在那裡蒙你恩眷所延攬，一方面在此為其故土所保留——既因我的熱心被舉薦於你，願他自己也舉薦此事：就是他如今或已得著那後嗣之獲得，或對這隨我們同歸之子的順遂而安心。
The son of your client, the illustrious man Laurentius, restored by my zeal, is added to the region. Long ago we sent a servant in the father: behold, we add in the son a servant's service. From this one man sent to you, observe how it is dealt with the others. It remains that the aforesaid soldier of yours — whose offspring is both there extended to your grace, and here reserved for his fatherland — commended to you by my zeal, may himself commend this: that he is now either already possessed of the acquisition of that offspring, or secure concerning the prosperity of this one who returns with us.
