108:1
With free response I profess that, God inspiring the souls of His own, the brightness of truth shines from afar. For that apostolic saying which you often repeat suffices to be recognized in the Redeemer: that if you confess the Lord Jesus, and that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Rom. X, 9). Yet in such a way that His own divinity, with the Father, is understood to have given back life to the crucified man. As He Himself testifies in John the evangelist: I have power to lay down my soul, and I have power to take it up again (John X, 18). Furthermore, it in no way saves to believe rightly of Christ the man only, unless you join also, with catholic understanding, to hold rightly concerning His Divinity. For the Photinians also assert that Christ died and was raised again.
And since the sentence of your law as of ours detests their most wicked blasphemy in this, if you say that only the assumed man perished and was raised again by the Father's power alone, I ask, what do you censure in the professions of the aforesaid plague, when our Lord Himself, as it is read, by His own nod raises up the temple dissolved by His adversaries? Of what temple this is certainly said is at hand, since the restoration of the temple, returning within two days to its former state, evidently sets forth the resurrection of the Lord's flesh, in which His divinity had dwelt in place of a temple.
108:3
Idem ergo Filius Dei Deus qui mori non potuit, defunctum hominem suscitavit, et templum inimicis manibus dissolutum, in unitatem personæ solidata rursus divinitati quam assumpserat carne restituit.
Therefore the same Son of God, God who could not die, raised up the dead man, and the temple dissolved by hostile hands He restored, the flesh which He had assumed being again made solid unto the divinity in the unity of the person.
