139:1
Sicut enim Judæorum tex, itagentinm gloria, gratia est. Et ideo apostolus Paulas ad unam partem dicit, Non bona gloriatio vestra ( II Cor. v, 6), ad aliam vero, Mihi autem absit gloriari, nisi in cruce Do■ mini nostri Jesu Christi (Gal. iv, 14).
For as the law is to the Jews, so is the glory of the Gentiles; grace [answers both]. And therefore the Apostle Paul says on the one side, Your glorying is not good (1 Cor. 5:6), but on the other, But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (Gal. 6:14).
因為律法之於猶太人如何,屬地的榮耀之於外邦人也是如何;而恩典〔則勝過兩者〕。因此使徒保羅一面說:你們這自誇是不好的(哥林多前書五6),一面又說:但我斷不以別的誇口,只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架(加拉太書六14)。
