Cum autem subjecta fuerint illi omnia, tunc etiam ipse Filius subjectus erit illi qui sibi subjecit omnia, u. sit Deus omnia in omnibus ( Ibid., 28 ). Istud Apostolus ab octavi psalmi posuit exemplo. Sic namque scri. ptum esi: Minorasti eum paulo minus ab angelis; omnia subjecisti sub pedibus ejus (Psal. VIII, €). Ergo ejus pedibus omnia subdit, quem paulo minus ab angelis mineravit. Ncc mirum est, ut in ea creatura Patre dicatur minor, in qua ci niam beatitudo angelica exstitit major.
But when all things shall have been subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also shall be subject to Him who subjected all things to Himself, that God may be all in all (ibid. 28). This the Apostle set forth from the example of the eighth psalm. For thus it is written: You made him a little lower than the angels; you have subjected all things under his feet (Ps. 8:6-8). Therefore He subjects all things under the feet of Him whom He made a little lower than the angels. And it is no wonder that He is said to be less than the Father in that created nature, in which even the blessedness of the angels stood higher.
萬物既服了祂，那時子也要自己服那叫萬物服祂的，叫神在萬物之上，為萬物之主（同上28）。使徒是從第八篇詩篇的例證引出這話的。因為經上這樣記著：你叫他比天使微小一點；你使萬物都服在他的腳下（詩篇八5-6）。所以神將萬物服在祂的腳下，就是那位祂使他比天使微小一點的。祂在那受造的本性中被稱為比父小，也不足為奇，因在這本性中連天使的福分都顯為更高。
