Litteras beatitudinis vestrae quas diuturnitas temporis fecerat desiderabiles, vicina festivitas reddidit gratiores, quam in Dei nonine prosperc celebravimus, et a vobis commode transactam esse gaudemus. Orate illud semper Ecclesiae catholicae sanctorum suffragio provenire, quod Divinitas regulae novii ac paci, salva in omnibus fraternitatis caritate congruere.
The letters of your Beatitude, which the length of time had made desirable, the nearby festival rendered more welcome—the festival which we celebrated prosperously in God's name, and which we rejoice to have been conveniently accomplished by you. Pray that this may ever come about for the Catholic Church by the suffrage of the saints, and that whatever the Godhead grants may accord with the rule of newness and of peace, the charity of brotherhood being preserved in all things.
